It's been 6 1/2 weeks. They are driving me nuts. I've never had big boobs before!! And while dh is ejoying them, I am not!! I just want to go to bed without having to wear a bra & breastpads!! And be *intimate* without leaking all over dh!! :eek: Sorry if TMI!! Hmmmm is it like this for the whole breastfeeding time or is there hope for me? Otherwise I'm giving it up!!!! :(

I had an H cup so I know where you are coming from ... and they will settle down very shortly - promise!

For both of mine 'the girls' calmed down after around the six - eight week mark after my babies had a bit of a routine going. If they occasionally slept through a feed then I would find myself engorged a bit but again, they calmed down.

Don't give up ... you're nearly past the 'difficult stage'.

Actually it is different for everyone. People always say they get smaller after breastfeeding. Alas mine didn't and have stayed huge.

I didn't stop with the leaking thing until O was at least 6 months...sorry, that's just what happened with me.:o

Me too - leaked until I stopped breastfeeding. Had to wear a bra and breastpads the whole time....:eek: and still occasionally had the ....ahem.....'rupture' overnight....

I was a large C cup before Bub, much larger for the first few weeks after and sadly have now gone down to a B.......:(

11 weeks and still leaking i find i usually leak when i start feeding her and also leak in the morning sometimes before feeding.. The person that invented breast pads would be a millionaire now with all the people that use/used them (especially the amount i have bought :rolleyes: )

Yes, I remember when my first was newborn, my sis called me "pammie" (referring to Pamela Anderson's pair). :D

Coming from someone who was a B cup prior to pregnancy, they were pretty impressive (much to DH's liking;) ).

But alas, they have all but gone now and I am back to a B cup after feeding two children with them.

I think the leaking only lasted a couple of months, but while I was breastfeeding it was more or less "they are the babies (boobs) until they don't need them anymore":)

So, the glimmer is starting to fade again! The amount of $$ I've spent on breast pads is almost the same as formula :eek: !!!! Oh well I'll give it 3 more months, after that I'm DONE!!!!

I know what you mean with the cost of breastpads!!:eek:
It got so out of control for me I tried the washable variety from the chemist and they were horrible! Didn't absorb a thing.:rolleyes:
This time around I'm going to try some hemp ones that WAHM's make. I have heard nothing but good reviews, so that's always something you could give a go.

My skin is soooo sensative. I think I might just stick to my johnsons ones coz they dont itch me.... :o But tell me how they go!!

I too had small boobs & now that I'm breastfeeding they are huge ( well huge for me anyway) i can stand them but DP loves them even tho i hardly let him touch them these day lol.
The thing i can not stand is when one boob is fall & the other has just been emptied lol.
I can wait till they go back to there original size if they ever do, but i still want to bf for a few more mths yet so it will have to wait hehehe :p ;) :rolleyes:

Mine were literally like taps with my first...how does this stop?? I gave up after a couple of weeks because it drove me crazy and its another aspect that is making me want to bottle feed from the start...the tap thing was really really bad drip drip drip all day and night long!

Not having suffered prolonged BML myself I havn't tested this product personally. I did try the one the ABA used to sell a breastcup to collect BML. These and the old ABA ones are reusable products that my be of interest if you want to continue giving your babies and yourselves all the benifits that come with Breastmilk.
Scheduled feeding may also play a part?

yeah i know exactly what u mean!! intimacy just aint the same! haha

and sorry for the also tmi... i remember the first morning i woke up to a wet mattress! poor DF, had soaked him too.. thats what he gets for cuddling up to me during the night! Indy had slept through so i had quite the feed build up by morning!

my boobs pre preg were a 16 D (I think thats small maybe because ive had em all me life LOL) but now at 28 weeks I think im going to have to go into a bigger size because my boobies are starting to hang outta me bra!!!!!!!!!

Ok well they seem to be settling down a little. That glimmer of hope is growing again :p That is when Ella feeds when she supposed to!! Is she goes longer than the norm, they leak a bit :rolleyes: I guess that is to be expected though!!

Try some wool nursing pads to help relieve your boobs, and to help absorb the flow...
They're at the ABA shop online, and at Nurture Nappies too. I think they also make an Extra Absorbent model; just ask what they reccomend, but wool is beautiful to use, soft on oyur skin and the lanolin has amazing medicinal properties thathelps with mastitis etc. The wool is untreated, unlike most other wools around, so retins all these wonderful properties. A lot cheaper than disposable pads, and a lot more effective.:)

I had the same problem but there IS light at the end of the tunnell!!

My boy is 4 months, I still leak a little but no way near the amount before! I wear breastpads during the day and NO BRA at night. I just wrap a towel around my chest! It feels so great not to wear a bra.

Sometimes the towel is quite wet in the morning but you can just whack it in the washing machine! No more expensive boob pads!!

Give it a try....hope it works for you!
