Welcome to Bubhub Photo Comp #21.

Congratulations to Cordelia for winning the last round. She has selected the theme for this round.

CRIME SCENE

:detective:

There are only 20 photos allowed in each competition unless otherwise stated in the thread.

Here are the PHOTO COMPETITION RULES.

1. You may only enter 1 photo.

2. The photo MUST be taken specifically for the competition. You cannot use one you already have.

3. Editing - you can crop your photo, and you can change it to either black & white or sepia. No other changes are allowed.

4. Once an entry has been submitted you cannot change it for another. If you do this your entry will be removed from the competition.

5. The winner can choose the theme for the following round and pm it to either TwoBlue or myself. We will then start up the thread.

Please note - if your entry doesn't comply with the rules, we'll remove it and pm you so you can fix it or submit another entry (if there's still any places available).

The aim of the competition is to use your photographic skills. It is not a cute baby contest (although we all love cute babies), and kids don't need to be in the photo at all, it's about taking the best photo you can, something with a little 'wow factor'.
When you're entering a photo or voting, see if it has these type of elements:
- is it in focus?
- does it relate to the theme?
- does it have good composition (ie does the subject have their legs cut off, or is too low in the picture etc)
- is the lighting good?
- is it creative?

If anyone has ideas/suggestions for the comp, please pm TwoBlue or myself as we want to make this as fun for everyone as possible. HAPPY SNAPPING

I'll be trying to join, just have to think of something. I did catch the dog with one of DD's stuffed toys last night, with suitable remorseful expression on the dog's face, but the pic didn't turn out very well.

I have a Fuji Finepix S5500

I just put it on automatic :o and i had it set on Black and White.

You would think I would have learned how to use it properly since i did the photography for both my SIL and BIL's weddings! :o

26-07-2007, 17:17
Well I can tell I'm never actually going to get around to taking the picture, so I'll just tell you what I was thinking:

A section of the kitchen marked off with ribbon that looks like Police tape, a bottle of milk overturned with some milk spilt on the floor, and our cat with an Inspector Morse style hat on... I thought it would be funny, but anyway - good theme:yes:

To Cordelia

Thanks for the comments. I liked the Harry Potter concept, but I was in a rush to do it and it's not right. Anyway...

Graffitti....now THAT IS a crime!! Good shot.

I've had a lot of different ideas, but this one seemed best and hasn't been done by anyone else.

Water crime:
http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i33/MarthaM70/dripsmall.jpg

Camera settings were on auto, but this is what the program tells me;
Casio Exlim EX250
shutter speed 1/125 seconds
F4.8
ISO 200 equivalent

Trying to get light and shadow balanced was terrible :(

I think it's funny in this technological age and wonderful digital cameras and little devices... someone forgot to teach the majority of us how to use the bloody things and what everything means... lol

I should've just bought a disposable and said "Kodak, Disposable, Exposure 400" lol

This round of the comp will close now. It's been a challenging theme with lots of interesting entries. It's great to see everyone's camera details too.

I'll set up the voting polls now.
