Hello
Kailey is 16 weeks old now and the last 2/3 weeks she has been waking up during the night, and then waking up earlier than she was before. She has always sleep through 8pm (with 11pm roll over bottle) to 7.30am. Now its like 8.30pm (11pm roll over bottle), the wakes at 2am, 3.30am then wakes at 6am and wants to get up. I dont understand why all of a sudden she keeps waking!!! Can anyone tell me why this has happened, or what I can do to help her sleep through again?
By the way she is bottlefeed, Isnt on solid yet, and doesnt seem to be teething.
Sorry hope this opinion doesn't get me in trouble lol but i'm always with the theory of never waking a sleeping baby. I don't understand why roll over feeds are req.How will a baby ever learn to sleep thru and not expect a bottle everytime they open their eyes during the night.Mine only ever get a bottle when they wake of their own accord, which is rare. My youngest is 5 months and he wakes once a week around 5am other than that he sleeps 7.30pm-7am.I just go with their own natural requirements. If he wakes, he's hungry, cold etc if he doesn't he is fine.Ok so i spend 3 months getting them into this routine and i may have to get up twice a night in the beginning but they soon start to drop feeds and eventually sleep through.Has worked with all 3 of my kids so far. :D

No great advice here sorry Ewells1983, but it is perfectly normal for babies to change their sleeping patterns quite regularly until they are 2.
Not what you want to hear I know - sorry!
I found with DS2 that every time he cut a tooth his sleeping patterns changed, sometimes it took weeks for the tooth to appear, but that is what it was every time and he has only just started sleeping through at 18mths  (lucky for me DS1 has always been a great sleeper).
I also found that things changed (for the better) once they were on solids, but again that is not always the case.
Stick it out cause it is probably just a phase.:)
Is she hungry ?
Maybe she is having a growth spurt ?
Sending sleep vibes your way........

I'd guess your bub's getting hungry. I have three boys, 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 4 mths. The first two started waking more around the 5 mth mark. After a couple of night (just to rule out sickness or wind etc), I started them on small amounts of solids. Not recommended by the clinics these days until 6 mths, but I will follow my head when number three starts waking at night. Worth thinking about!
Goodluck! Sleepless nights hurt after having a good sleep patteren for a while huh???

Hi there:)
I would have to say my first thought would be that maybe she is needing a little bit of solids? My book says that when a baby has been a regular sleeper through the night and then all of the sudden starts waking it may be becuase of a growth spurt and they need more during the day. Iwould try indroduce a little rice cereal or something.
Im not sure how you feel about this - but do you let her go for a few minutes to see if she re-settles herself? I always found - after ruling out hunger, nappy, illness etc etc that letting them have a little cry sometimes solved the problem - this usually only went on a couple of nights.
I would most certainly rule the hunger thing out first amongst the other troubleshooters - that or she may not be well? 4months is still very little but also common for growth spurts:)

Hey
Thanks for your replys. She is still doing it. AHHHHH! If it is a growth spurt, god it must be a big one. I dont know what it is, Im thinking I might give solids a go, to see if it is hunger, as she doesnt seem interested in her bottle as much, and trys to steel my food (had a sandwich and she tryed to take it out of my hand and put it into her mouth). Dont know?!?
The problem is that shes not getting much sleep during the day either, she wont go down to sleep, she'll go 5 to 6 hours straight awake and is so crabby!!!
She is not sick at all as I went to the GP yesterday, she seem to say it's her trying to work herself into a pattern?!? What pattern, there is no pattern!!! Well I dont know what Im going to do yet. If anyone has any suggestions, please keep them coming.
Oh Valosgirls-Yes I let her cry a bit to settle herself, but that doesnt work, she just keeps crying until I pick her up or she'll settle but 5 minutes later she at it again.
