We are in a real bind....
G is a size 5/6. this is in the volleys. 6 in other brands are too long. 5 are not worth buying they are on the brink that much.
BUT, he seems to have oddly wide feet.... Looked at getting him Crocs today. But even they arent wide enough!!!
Any recommendations? I dont really mind him not having alot of shoes - he just needs 1! Im afraid he will grow out of the volleys before i find something else that fits.
We havent spent hours in shoe shops, dept stores - everywhere at the moment, and it just appears that my little mans feet cant be accomodated for!
I have found the odd few that may be semi ok... but they are too hard soled for him, and he has only started walking in the past 2 months, so i want him to not move into them just yet...
any suggestions?

I had the same trouble with DS when he was little. He grew out of it though. I dont have much trouble anymore thank goodness. I found that velcro type shoes were the best. Otherwise you might have to check out betts or somewhere like that.

thanks for that :) I hope he grows out of it!!! Its might frustrating... Although what has annoyed me more is that i have found stacks of girls shoes that would be ok!

I had the same problem with Noah, and he hasn't grown out of it yet, you just have to try on heaps of different shoes to find the right ones, there are no specific brands that I know of that have the right shape. I've usually found one or two pairs each season in Kmart, target or a shoes shop with a good range of kids shoes.

maybe i need to go through blazes shoes fr you i have heaps of his from when he had little feet and they are wide too! DD cant wear them as shes a little china doll feet wise LOL
Hi there
My DS has the same issue - nice wide feet!!
I found some Clark's shoes in a size 5 with a velcro strap on them and these seemed to be the only shoes I could find that I could get on and off him easily, that fit, and that he can walk very comfortably in as a lot of the 'walkers' shoes were a bit too heavy.
The ones I have are called Clarks First Steps - Bingo, (I got one pair in brown and one in blue), a size 5 E+. They usually retail at arouns $49.95 which is pretty expensive for a pair of shoes that may only last a few months, but we picked them up in a sale where they werw 40% off or something like that. I would check out the Myer Stocktake sale as they might have them reduced - or David Jones when they have their big sale.
Also Bright Bots makes some shoes which I have only ever seen at David Jones which are actually pre-walkers and pretty soft but they were great for getting my DS used to wearing shoes and walking and they only cost about $15. Their sizing goes by age so I got the 12-18mth pair and they were wide enough and have the velcro strap.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, he is in the 12-18month sizing... and bigger... :p
I had a look at mathers today at their clark range, but they had sold out of alot of theres...
Been told that the crocs were good. Even the Shop assistants were amazed that they werent wide enough!
Are you in Brisbane? My DS has just grown out of the pair of Bright Bots I got for him. They are actually a little worn down from him wearing them so much so probably wouldn't be any good as a pair of shoes for him to wear but if you wanted to even just try them to see if they would fit I can see if I can get them to you somehow?
The shop assistants used to be amazed at how wide my DS's feet were as well - don't know why they were amazed though, I must admit the rest of him is certainly on the chubby side so why not his feet as well?? :P
ETA - The Clarks First Steps have a rather soft sole as well by the way. In between pre-walker and walker pretty much.
