View Full Version : Rich Choc biccies?
anyone know of a recipe for chop chip biccies where u actually melt choc and butter and add to the mix?
These are my FAVE biscuits ever! They never last long at our place.
50 gm butter chopped
50 gm dark chocolate
50 gm choc chips
1 egg at room temp
1/2 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup plain flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 tbspoon cocoa powder
2/3 cup icing sugar
Place butter and dark choc in micro safe bowl and microwave on med-high stirring every 30 secs till melted and smooth.
Using an electric mixer beat egg and brown sugar in a bowl on high until thick, stir in choc mixture.
Sift flour, baking powder and cocoa over chocolate mixture, mix well.
Stir choc chips through dough, cover and refrigerate until firm enough to roll.
Pre heat oven to 180. Roll heaped teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Roll in icing sugar to coat. Place biscuits on tray leaving enough room for them to spread.
Bake biscuits for 12 minutes or until firm. Stand on trays for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool...
If they last that long we always eat them warm.
They are awesome looking biscuits too as they cook and spread the icing sugar leaves cracks of choc coming though, they are just divine!!
Now I have to make some too!!
Good luck
P.S I think I may have made them using SR FLour instead of the baking powder and plain flour in the past.. I cant remember, sorry
