The Air That You Breathe
This was the song we walked down the garden path together too - yeah we had a very untraditional wedding - we went to the ceremony together.
We had a resturant reception that had no dancing or anything.
We had other songs during the signing of the registry and on the video and stuff but the top song was the main one.

We didn't want a song with lyrics, so we found the album by the Bond girls (contemporary classical violinists) and played track 4 from their album entitled 'Lullaby' It has parts of the traditional wedding song in it - very moving.

When the celebrant said 'you may now kiss the bride' we had an awesome version of Bitter Sweet Symphony without the lyrics.

Our waltz was to Robbie Williams 'Angels'

For walking down the aisle we had Pachobel's Canon in D (I still cry when I play it) and our wedding dance sone was "Pure Shores" by All Saints because it was the first song we both liked just after we had 'got together'.

Although, while the guests were waiting for the bridal party to arrive, and while we were signing the certificates, etc; we had the 'Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone' soundtrack which I just love the instrumental of.

Sorry to all the Shania & Celine fans out there, but I got married in 2001 (right in the thick of the Shania/Celine wedding song trend) and absolutely forbade the DJ, under pain of death, to play any of those songs!! I have to admit that every time I went to a wedding & heard them I would inwardly groan!

We actually had Yazoo's "Only You" (yes, we are old!!) for our wedding song & I walked down the aisle to Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" (a stunning piece of music!)

I had a song picked out to walk into the reception, but the cd stuffed up & it ended up playing Kenny Rogers' "Through the Years" (which I had picked out for my parents. Funnily enough I can't remember what song it was meant to be!!)

Then when we left the reception, we had "The Honeymoon Song" by Everclear, which happened to be perfect as it is all about them honeymooning in Hawaii, which was where we were headed!

We were married in January... :smiliedance:

We walked down the Isle to Lullaby - Bond, an all girl instamental group who put a modern twist on classical songs, Lullaby is their version of Cannon D. http://www.bondmusic.net

We walked out of the ceremony to Accedently in Love (from Shrek).

Our entry into the reception was Beautiful Day - U2

Our Bridal Waltz (or shuffle as I call it!) was to Unchained Melody - Richeous (sp?)Brothers
The dance after with the bridal party was Somethin Stupid - Nicole Kidman & Robbie Williams. I LOVE this song, it was originally done by Frank & Nancy Sinatra. I was going to have it for the waltz but we would have had to learn how to dance! It would have been great to dance to though...

Our exit from the reception was On a Night Like This - Kylie Minogue

We just got married and had Lior's this old love. Which made everyone cry! My mum and I watched the video today and she started crying she said oh I hate this song I always blub! She walked me down the aisle...

Instead of a DJ we created playlists on our Ipod. My partner didnt want to do the dance thing so we had heaps of special songs - Angel by Jimi Hendrix, RHCP Hard to Concentrate, Islands in the Stream (kenny and dolly) beautiful by lifehouse. THose songs remind me of our day.
