what was your wedding song?
Cheek to Cheek by Fred Astaire..
we love the old crooners :)
The Air That You Breathe
This was the song we walked down the garden path together too - yeah we had a very untraditional wedding - we went to the ceremony together.
We had a resturant reception that had no dancing or anything.
We had other songs during the signing of the registry and on the video and stuff but the top song was the main one.
ok - i was only 18 and still living at home and have a great relationship with my dad, so my walk down the isle song was 'butterfly kisses' by bob carlisle, but our dancing song was 'finally found someone'!!!
Walked down the isle to Power of Love-Celine Dion....i had to walk around a corner to see DP and i did so as the big buildup of the song came.
Bridal Waltz was "I've Had the Time of My Life", the dirty Dancing song.
Cut the cake to...'Sometimes when we touch'
I walked down the isle to "Everything i do i do it for you"- Bryan Adams, Bridal waltz was "Amazed"- Lonestar & Father daughter dance was "Because you loved me"- Celine Dion. We also danced to "Sweet Child of Mine"- Guns N Roses as this was the song that was playing when we met.

Tash yes we are still fighting over this & have yet to come to an agreement !
We didn't want a song with lyrics, so we found the album by the Bond girls (contemporary classical violinists) and played track 4 from their album entitled 'Lullaby' It has parts of the traditional wedding song in it - very moving.
When the celebrant said 'you may now kiss the bride' we had an awesome version of Bitter Sweet Symphony without the lyrics.
Our waltz was to Robbie Williams 'Angels'
I walked up the stairs on the boat to 'I Knew I Loved You' by Savage Garden.
Signing the register was 'Beautiful Day' by U2.
Our bridal waltz was "Teardrop" by Massive Attack
We had all the tradional walking down the ailse and recessional ones.
Our goodbye song was "Thankyou" by Dido follollwed by that last song from Grease you know "we go together like doowop do wadawada zingadee zing de zong..... "
'How sweet it is to be loved by you' was our bridal waltz by Michael Buble'.
We had "kiss me" sixpence none the richer..(dawson's creek song) as we walked into reception... Amazed- lonstar as we cut cake & Aerosmith dont wanna miss a thing for our dance song. & when we were leaving.. Jessica simpson "i wanna love you forever". :o

I walked down to "in this time" originally written by a band called "the tea Party"

We had Canon, Pachebel for walking down the aisle, Ava Maria sung for signing the registry and Ode to Joy for walking out of the church.
Our Bridal Waltz was Bittersweet Symphony and then the 2nd dance with parents etc was U2 The Sweetest Thing.
Oh memories....... :)
For walking down the aisle we had Pachobel's Canon in D (I still cry when I play it) and our wedding dance sone was "Pure Shores" by All Saints because it was the first song we both liked just after we had 'got together'.
Although, while the guests were waiting for the bridal party to arrive, and while we were signing the certificates, etc; we had the 'Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone' soundtrack which I just love the instrumental of.
At Last - Etta James.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO romantic. It was the song for our first dance and we had bubbles everywhere. :)
Such fond memories. :) DH were laughing our heads off as we didnt do dancing lessons, we were wondering if anybody could tell we couldn't dance for crap! :) lol

A Party of Five
It was "Amazed" by Lonestar. Because we where in the kitchen cooking dinner and I saying that we did not have a song yet. So DH said the next song to comes on the radio will be are song. So that how we got are song
Ours was 'Amazed' by Lonestar too!!

Ours was Beautiful by Alex Loyd. We wanted Amazing from him but could'nt find it anywhere but the DJ had it at our reception so that was our first dance song.
Our reception was in a huge shed on my parent's farm that was glammed up for the occassion and although we had plenty of music going all afternoon there was no one 'song' or dancing as such. Please don't hate me- but I actually couldn't think of anything worse then dancing together in front of people! To some soppy song!!

"Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden. Still one of my favourite bands even though they aren't a band anymore.
Sorry to all the Shania & Celine fans out there, but I got married in 2001 (right in the thick of the Shania/Celine wedding song trend) and absolutely forbade the DJ, under pain of death, to play any of those songs!! I have to admit that every time I went to a wedding & heard them I would inwardly groan!
We actually had Yazoo's "Only You" (yes, we are old!!) for our wedding song & I walked down the aisle to Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers" (a stunning piece of music!)
I had a song picked out to walk into the reception, but the cd stuffed up & it ended up playing Kenny Rogers' "Through the Years" (which I had picked out for my parents. Funnily enough I can't remember what song it was meant to be!!)
Then when we left the reception, we had "The Honeymoon Song" by Everclear, which happened to be perfect as it is all about them honeymooning in Hawaii, which was where we were headed!
We had Donna Lewis _ Always Forever as our first dance
Colour of my love _ Celine dion as we signed our paper work
Genises(sp) follow me follow you as we left the church...
We made up a cd and gave it to all the guests

I didn't have any music as I walked across our front yard with my Dad to my very nervous waiting hubby. We did however, have "Love Your Way" by Salmonella Dub playing as we signed the register.
To walk through the garden: an instramental by Ben Harper "The Three of Us", Signing of the registery: "Forever" again by Ben Harper & for the first dance "Thankyou" by Dido.
DH and I eloped in Darwin. We got married in the wet season so our backyard was beautifull and green. These are the songs we had.
Walking to meet DH - Keith Urban - Your Everything
Signing the Register - Tim McGraw/Faith Hill - Its Your Love
Cutting the Cake and Garden Photo's - Shania Twain - From this moment and Rohan Keating - When you say nothing at all.
Well at the moment we're still deciding lol but we know for sure i will be walking down the path at the beach to Angels by Robbie Williams. We won't have a bridal dance so we just have to come up with a couple more for register signing, cake cutting etc.
when im sleeping - leonardo's bride

We walked down the Isle to Lullaby - Bond, an all girl instamental group who put a modern twist on classical songs, Lullaby is their version of Cannon D. http://www.bondmusic.net
We walked out of the ceremony to Accedently in Love (from Shrek).
Our entry into the reception was Beautiful Day - U2
Our Bridal Waltz (or shuffle as I call it!) was to Unchained Melody - Richeous (sp?)Brothers
The dance after with the bridal party was Somethin Stupid - Nicole Kidman & Robbie Williams. I LOVE this song, it was originally done by Frank & Nancy Sinatra. I was going to have it for the waltz but we would have had to learn how to dance! It would have been great to dance to though...
Our exit from the reception was On a Night Like This - Kylie Minogue
We just got married and had Lior's this old love. Which made everyone cry! My mum and I watched the video today and she started crying she said oh I hate this song I always blub! She walked me down the aisle...
Instead of a DJ we created playlists on our Ipod. My partner didnt want to do the dance thing so we had heaps of special songs - Angel by Jimi Hendrix, RHCP Hard to Concentrate, Islands in the Stream (kenny and dolly) beautiful by lifehouse. THose songs remind me of our day.
