Raspberry leaf tea should be taken from 36 weeks NO EARLIER....It increases your braxton hicks and can make them quite strong.

Evening primrose from 34weeks if braxton hicks are mild-36 if BH are good and strong .
You can take the EPO orally or vaginally, if you use it vaginally place in just before bed so your body gets the full effects and can absorb the oil totally.

Good luck

It was my understanding that you could take raspberry leaf tea or tablets from the third trimester- I've been drinking it from 24 weeks (technically the 3rd trimester) and seen no increase in braxton hicks- but I guess everyone's body reacts differently to it. It's a herbal remedy that will tone your uterus and get it ready for birthing- won't put you into labour or anything like that. It's also good to continue after bub is born for milk production (which is something new I've learnt.

I would ask a midwife rather than a doctor- as most doctors don't seem to have much knowledge about it all- well, that's been my experience anyway.

hi i took rasberry leaf tablets from 20 weeks till 36 weeks with my 3rd child, they help with dilation as well as lactation so it was highly recommended to me not to take them after 36 weeks. i had problems with breast feeding my first 2 but was like a jersy cow a day after i had my 3rd

I recommend that you take RLT from about 25 weeks and continue taking until you are in labour. EPO should be taken from about 35 weeks. It is more effective if taken orally and inserted in to the vagina.
