Hi,
I'm new to bub hub and new to the baby world. My son Kyle is 8 weeks old on wednesday! My hubby and I are 24 and we are enjoying getting used to our new little family.
This is a really great forum for info... was looking for good info and a bit of reasurance as Kyle is getting his 8 week immunisations 2morrow...hence the reasurance.... fingers crossed.
Looking forward to adding to the friendly and informative atmosphere here on the hub.
:) Melissa

hey :)

welcome to bubhub... :D

my DS Jack had his needles three weeks ago.. (gee that went fast!!) - my only tip is to hold his leg really firmly so that he cant yank it away .. it hurts more if he moves... and have a boob or bottle handy to take his mind off it when it is all over ... :D

the nurse who did ours was impressed that I didn't cry!!! (I ALMOST did.... had to choke them back) .. just remember that in the long term... a little needle today is better than whooping cough later on...

but I dont want to open the can of worms that is immunisation (to do or not to do!!!!!)

just a big welcome to you... and ((hugs)) good luck at the doctors!!!

Hi and welcome
Good luck with bubs needles tomorrow. My DD had her's just over 2 weeks ago. I have the same advice as veve...hold that leg as tight as you can:) My DS got a bruise from his first needles coz I didn't hold his leg tight enough :o Oh, and make sure you get some baby panadol too...just in case bub gets a bit of a fever from the needles.
Good luck, I'm sure bub will be fine...and so will you :D

Thanks for the warm welcome and all your advice :) It all went well, I held his leg tight and it wasn't the drama I was expecting thank goodness. bub didn't get a feaver either, though we gave him some panadol today as he was so restless and irritable that he couldn't sleep, he's finally asleep now :D
