Karicare Gold Plus

Does anyone else use Karicare Gold Plus? I use it for DD2 but only just read somewhere that it is being taken off the shelves due to the prebiotic ingredient not being officially approved by government - it's not harmful to bubs, but it hasn't gone through all the proper channels.

Anyway, I don't know if you can take unopened containers back ( should I just keep going with it until the tins are empty and then change?) and what to change too as I can't find any other information on this, the website just says that they are trying to fix the 'red tape' ASAP. I only recently bought a few tins last week as it was on special at the Chemist Warehouse. Is there anyone else who uses this, and what are you doing?

Yeah I use it and I called the helpline...says the same thing...they are still going through discussions with the Health Authority. That was last week and they said another huge shipment was being filtered into the community. They also said if you are finding it hard to obtain then call the helpline on the tin.

I am going to keep using it as long as I can get it. I have tried others in the past and DD only drinks that one. So :fingerscrossed:

I want to keep using it too for as long as I can get it, as DD2 is thriving on it - just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat!

DS has been having it in the last 4 weeks or so and slept through since the 1st night he's on it! Not sure if it's because of the formula or just a coincidence though.

I also called the Nutricia Helpline and Food Authority. They said that it's more of a legality issue and no problem with the formula (it's safe to drink). Since DS takes it well, I went and bought several extra tins to keep at home.

i used to use it, now i dont i returned all unopened cans, she never really had an side affetcs or anything from it but now i use nan gold an she loves it, io also thoughtthey took it off the self or were going 2?
