Hi
I know this is related to nerve repair etc but just thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Every once in a while I get either a slight burning sensation or a feeling of pressure - just lightly like someone has their hand on my back - at the site where my epidural was inserted - 5 months ago - has anyone else felt this?
Just curious

I can't say that I get burning sensations where I had my epidurals but I always get bad backache where I had my epidurals and I had them 13 & 11 years ago!
I've had two epidurals and I have not ever had similar sensations. I have heard that it can take quite a long time for nerves to heal ( I remember a numb spot on my bottom lip for about 6 months after having my wisdom teeth out!). Hope this makes you feel better...
Cheers

I have had two epidurals & havent had any problems. I would be going to see your dr esp since your getting a burning feeling around the area.

I had an unwanted epi 41/2 years ago with my daughter because of high blood pressure. Not sure if the high blood pressure was there before or after they asked me if I wanted one, but getting anxious about it sure didn't help. So I had a full dose where you are completely paralized from the ribs down which totally freaked me out. Afterwards my back was sore for days - like someone had punched me there and now when I get back pain it is right on that same spot and I have a tiny numb patch on the heel of my foot as well. I can't help but feel mad about it because I thought I was doing fine and they refused to help me without having an epidural. I just wanted someone to help hold my legs so I could push. I know of lots of people who have had great epidurals but I know of one lady who is now lame in one leg because of her epidural. It's a risk you take with everything I guess. I just wish they had left me alone. Well, that's my little whinge. Going to find some chocolate now.
