I usually add brown sugar and vinegar to the water when cooking corned silverside but I have run out of vinegar.. I do have some balsamic vinegar but not sure how that would go...?
Anyone have any other tips for making a nice corned silverside please???
Was just going to do it in plain water but thought first i should see if anyone has any ideas?? Thanks :)

I do the brown sugar, vinegar, 12 whole peppercorns and a sliced carrot, not sure how you'd do it without the vinegar.:o

Use the balsamic it will give it a lovely flavour and it is vinegar.

The recipe I follow for our slow cooker says to use Balsamic Vinegar and it turns out beautifully every time!

I use ginger beer and it's extra yummy!!

DH has attempted it with Coke once, kinda sweet but not too bad.

Go on, give it a try

I have cooked it once, recently, and followed the instructions on the pack: 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, 10 peppercorns, a few bay leaves and a few cloves.
SOOOO yum!

I didnt have vinegar or onions one time so I used some pickled onions aswell as some of the liquid from the jar. Worked great
