View Full Version : Singulair and/or Flixotide
hi girls,
just came back from the doc, as bubby has had yet again another attack (we are down to 3 weekly intervals now)
so we did change his preventative meds to SEE ABOVE (both)
has anyone used it (your child) and were there any side effects? (they say with singulair itīs common little ones have tummy aches...)
??
DS has been on flixotide in the past, and had no side effects at all.
Just make sure that you rinse his mouth out after he has it, or it can cause thrush.

Yeah can give ulcers too (owwiee) has your Dr/ Paed tried Intel? Intel isn't a steriod like flixotide and the only ill effect can be a sore throat...
I hate trying new preventers  the not knowing if it works and all the other bits that come with it

My GS is on Singulair. He started on it when he was 4. It has been amazing and no apparent side effects. He has periods when he doesn't need anything at all.

we had intal- didnīt work....thats the reason we did have to change to this, as bubby ended up having to have prednisolone (sp?) every 3 weeks for a few days..so heīd rather inhales it then have it in liquid form straight in the bloodstream...
yep i know about the rinsing afterwards, but thanks- itīs an important point!

Lila- Good luck :fingerscrossed: Just remember what works for one doesn't mean it will work for you and not to lose hope. I personally use seretide and found the new combo medications a gift from the gods. My DH currently used symbicort which has improved his life tremendously he rarely uses his ventolin anymore :D We are still in the trial stages with my little one which is a bit tough on him and us....
