Does anyone put their bubs arms inside a grobag?

I want to transition DD from swaddling to grobag and thought that maybe I could put her arms in the grobag and then slowly take her arms out.

What do you think??

I think that is a great idea! wish i had thought about!!!
All you can do is try, im sure bubs will let you know if its not working!!!

I've done this for toadlet to stop him from scratching his face but he sucks the growbag and it gets soaking wet.

Another thing I've done to keep him swaddled is sew the arm cuffs to the colar so they can still move alittle but not wack themselves in the head.
That way he stil gets to suck his hands

I use a grobag, but my babies still like to be wrapped!!

So I use the grobag AND a lightweight wrap to keep their arms in.

Hope this helps

I wrapped my boy until about a month ago when I finally decided to use a sleeping bag. Cold turkey.

I didn't wean him off wrapping at all and, though he was a little bit harder to settle that very first time (took around 30 minutes longer), he was right as rain for the rest of the night and every sleep after that.

I might have just been lucky but you might be just as lucky :D Try it with a day sleep and see how it goes.

Best of luck.

I did as Beany did - and it worked fine. Two or three nights, and she was falling asleep as quickly and easily as ever :)

How old were your bubs when you put them in the grobag?

Is there an age when you should stop swaddling?

Hamish hated his arms being wrapped from day one. We put him in a grobag at 5 weeks and he took to it immediately.

I stopped at around 9 months. Way way WAY later than most but he preferred it and I prefer a quiet life

I put Brie in a growbag a few weeks ago from being fully wrapped. She like being able to stretch her legs but still wanted her arms wrapped in. So we do both.

If you put the arms in the growsuit wont his head go inside thru the hole. Maybe my growbag is too big?

There is no way her head would fit through the neck hole. I think she likes the security of the wrapping because I tried the grobag at the last sleep and until I wrapped her she didn't settle.

She is 14 weeks old and I have heard that you shouldn't wrap them past 3 months because you are limiting their movement and slowing down their development, but I figure this is the only time that her movement is limited.

It's more that you shouldn't keep them wrapped all the time or their movements will be limited.

If you're still worried, just wrap her a little looser than you have been until she's ready for a sleeping bag :)

Same as Beany again - about 9 months...

But by that stage we were getting up at least twice a night to rewrap her...so it wasn't working anyway!
