I want to get a sling as I have 2 under 2 and find it hard to take the big pram everywhere... I have a tommy carrier from when DD was a baby although I find it too uncomfortable and DS is 7kg so I find its strains my back.

Any suggestiions?

I have a baba sling and LOVE it! So does Jade, since we can adjust it according to mood and application. But I only have one child.. I don't know if that makes a difference.

I just had to add that I also use it to cover the pram thigns for Jade to sit in.. and I've used it as a 'blanket' while sitting on grass, and I've used it to hold stuff in (not the baby ;) ) ... multipurpose.

well I am having my first baby in March and I just bought the hugabub sling..well it's huge! but with my practise baby a stuffed dog it's actually quite good :D bit fiddly to put on at first but then it gets easier and it comes with a DVD on how to use it as you can use it with toddlers as well :D

I think I am going to like it

My advice (having had two under two myself) is the ergo baby carrier - it is a pouch but works as a sling when they are small, has a waist support so they don't kill your back when they get heavier and you can carry them up until they are about 5 - it does front and back carrying. The website is www.ergobabycarrier.com but you can check them out on www.carryingaway.com.au - I still use mine and DD2 is 15 months old.

I have the Baba Sling and it's great. I used it to carry DD1 on my hip while pregnant, now i use it for DD2 and she loves it! Great for when i'm trying to feed/play etc with DD1 and DD2 wants a cuddle. She settles soo well in it. I also have a baby bjorn style one, but that's ok when they are older but then not too big either. The Sling lasts from birth to 4 yrs.
Hope that helps!

I have a Too Cool Mums baby carrier. It's really easy to use and you dont have to take it off when the babies not in it if your going to put them back in it later in the day.

I have a Baba sling it is very comfy even with a 2year old in it. I have used a front carrier style but didn't like it as the baby just didn't look comfy to me:)

Ive got a front carrier & had to stop using it due to bubs being so big at 4mths !
They hurt your back so much :(
Ive just recently invested in a ring sling from a WAHM off ebay & i LOVE it !
Soooo wish i had found this when bubs was little ! I use it as a hip carrier now & its been great with no back probs & bubs is 11kgs
My advice for two babies would be to get a really light stroller that can lay back for either baby & invest in a sling that way they can rotate as needed !
Good luck !

I am a big fan of the slings and had one of every type (don't think I am crazy as I made most of them at home on my mothers sewing machine. ( the vietnamese style loop of fabric which hooks over one shoulder was great for getting her to sleep when she was little and curled up in it. The husband found it worked well at the coffee shops and you could sit down with her asleep across your lap. It did start to hurt the shoulders after about 6 kgs. but you just lie her down and slip your head out and so a great advantage!
The hug-a-bub which is a 6 mtr long piece of fabric (30cm wide) cost me $4 to make and a friend lent me her video on how to wrap it. This was Fantastic for whingy days and when you had work to do. the physio at the hospital was very impressed with it as it gives you absolutely no strain on the back. Baby can face in or out. She loved this until about 8 months. ( you can look a bit strange wrapped up in this at the shops!) my favourite for long lengths of baby carrying.
The baby Bjorn type. - good for light and little babies for popping to the shops and dads to carry but they really do hurt the back even with the waist support baby outgrows them at about 6 months , very few of my friends still use them frequently.

I found it great to have a selection for different uses, ( one in the car for shopping trips, one at home for housework, one with the pram for coffee shops etc.) and if you get second hand or make your own. they don't need to cost a fortune. even borrow them from a friend for a year.!
good luck:)

The baby bjorn was pretty rough on my back - I much prefer my ellaroo wrap style sling, but haven't tried any of the ring ones. I think it's good to have one that's versatile so you can carry them different ways as they grow -better value for money:D
