Schools in Redlands district

I am wondering whether anyone can give me some info on the state schools around the redlands area. Does anyone know of any good ones? The couple around my house have a pretty bad name for themselves, so just want to see what others think???

When I first moved to Brisbane from Melbourne I was halfway through grade 6 and went to Victoria Point State School. From what I can remember it wasn't too bad, but that was quite a few years ago and I only went for a year and a half! Sorry I can't be more helpful than that!

Hi Lis78 I've just moved into the Redlands District and from what I've heard the Birkdale State School has an excellent reputation. My daughter is only 10 months but my husband and I are thinking that's the school we would like to enrol her in. I have also seen it appear on Extra on Channel Nine promoting that the school now boasts a "junk free" tuckshop and are quiet strict on enforcing/teaching healthy eating priniciples.

better late than never but carbrook state school has a pretty good rep, my stepson and nehpew both went there and didnt have any problems. The teachers are lovely and the few times i have been to fetes they have been great.
Plus once a term they have a kids disco there

I have worked in child care in the area and have also lived in the area for many years and have good and bad vibes about some schools.

my daugther is only (almost) 3 and will not be started school prep untill 08 but i'm thinking of schools now.

i thinking Birkdale south but my mum (she is a teacher aid at a wynnum based school) says that wello point is a very good school and that is what i teacher at her school also said.

Hillards at Alexandra hill is a great school as well i have looked after some children from there and know some parent of children from there and they think it is very good. it offers lots of extra things.

Hi I grew up in the readlands and attended Brikdale Primary from years 4 to 7. It is a fantastic school, with fantastic teachers. They also have a good sports prgram or did have. My mum even used to be the lolly pop lady there until this year. She is now looking after bub for me.
