I love her. I do. I'm making this thread because I think she's fantastic.

After reading people problems with their MILs I made a trip to her house today, all by myself, just to chat and tell her how much I appreciated her. :)

She gave me Chris' (husbands) old baby clothes... including a cherished hat that he used to put on when he was 'beating up grandpa' and his christening clothes. She also gave me a pram that she bought recently at the Kmart sales! But it's too heavy for be to get out of the back of the car so I can't put it together and stare at it.

Anyhow. I just wanted to say, yeah, I like my MIL and she likes me :D .. anyone else?

My m-i-l is great. Admittedly she lives interstate but I get along with her really well and love chatting with her on the phone or seeing her when we can.

When I was previously married, my m-i-l was also fantastic and I stayed in the marriage longer than I should of because I didn't want to end my relationship with her. We tried to stay in touch but it was just too hard :(

I'm sure that my DP would like to complain about his m-i-l though! lol

Mine too - she's great.

We went through a rough patch but when I began to realise why she does things the way she does, I gained a whole new respect for her. Whilst she may not do things exactly how I would, it really doesn't matter.

She would do anything for us, adores her grandson and has never spoken poorly of any of us. She is always so generous with new things for Ry - when he was born she bought us a steraliser set, more bottles, bibs, clothes, books etc etc. She brought over food for us, came and helped to clean and always wanted to be with Ry for nappy changes, baths etc. At the time, I was a new Mum and a bit unsure of everything. I took offence thinking that she was controlling. I look back now, quite ashamed, all she was doing was her best to help.

We are so lucky to have her in our lives.

My MIL is great. She is very caring, honest and treats every one equal. She would never harm a fly. My MIL & FIL live in Sydney so they do not get to see their grandchildren very often, so my MIL sends up clothes and toys all the time. When my MIL comes to visit she usually stays for a week and spoils the grandkids rotten plus my husband and I.

I couldn't ask for a better mother in law.....

I'm another one who love's her MIL. She is the sweetest and kindest lady, we have a good laugh together, I adore her son as much as she does and she loves our kids. DH always says she tells me more than she tells anyone (including her 3 sons), so I guess you could say we are close.

She was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease when DS1 was 6mths old and is on medication, but has deteriorated. She likes to help with the kids, but finds it very difficult (physically), so I make an effort to have them over for dinner once a week or take the boys to her place for an afternoon so she can spend time with them.

We holidayed with her and DH's stepfather over Christmas/NY break because it was something that meant alot to her and I wanted to do it for her.

DH's parents are divorced so I am also blessed to have a great step-MIL too - I know I am lucky! :)

I too have a fantastic relaetionship with my great MIL. We lived with her and my FIL for about 5 months while we were looking for a new house. She looks after my kids at least once a week while im studying or at work, she is so generous buying gifts for the kids just because she wants to, she bought my car seat and many other things when i was pg with my 2 kids, She loves her grandkids so much and she loves as just as much. Again i think she is great. :D :D
