Hi Ladies,

Sorry about the TMI!

My cycles are normally 29 - 31 days long and I have never had spotting/bleeding mid cycle. I also normally have severe cramping 2 days prior to af coming.

Last af begain July 1st ended 8th July (which was slightly longer than normal) and I'm now on CD 17. I just went to the loo and I've begun spotting it's brown and full of clots (sorry TMI), like what I get at the end of af. I don't have any cramping at all which is why I don't think af's come really really early.

Could this be implantation bleeding? Is this what implantation bleeding looks like?

Thanks
Teyla

Probably a bit early for implantation bleeding, but could be ovulation bleeding? don't know though if you've never had that before. Let's hope it is implantation! :fingerscrossed:

I thought it might be to early for implantation bleeding too, didn't realise you could get ovulation bleeding (learn something new everyday).

I'm going to find an opk and see if that could be it.... be back in a tick

OPK is negitive, there's not even a faint test line. Normally I'd get a faint test line 2 days before ovulation, positive dark line day of ovulation, then a faint line the day after O, then nothing.

I'm thinking I may have o'd early this month as I had a lot of ecwm last week. I can't remember the actual cycle days as I haven't been charting since April (didn't see the point when I wasn't allowed to conceive due to having back surgery in May).

I have no idea! Sorry! Not very experienced in these things as I have never had bleeding between cycles. Any type of bleeding though can take a while to show, so it could be you had ovulation bleeding but didn't come out for a few days (TMI -sorry!)

I have heard sometimes it can be left over from AF, but I really don't know, just saying what i've heard others say on bubhub. Hope someone more helpful comes along soon!

Implantation is usually from about 7dpo I think, so if you o'd last week, then yep, could be implantation bleeding,.:fingerscrossed:

OK this is getting stranger by the minute  .

Spotting stopped about 8.30pm last night (began about 6pm). I woke up at 3am and noticed this really wierd feeling in my lower abdomen, how do I describe it? It felt like my muscles were squeezing in really tight, then they relaxed and then felt like they were being stretched outwards, then they relaxed again, then tightened etc. I went back to sleep around 4am but these strange movements are still here this morning. There's no pain at all, I don't feel sick but have a slight headache.

Do these strange 'movements' (for lack of a better name) go along with implantation or ovulation bleeding?

WOW! Again I know nothing! but it sounds like something's going on! It could also be a bowel thing, although that wont' cause the spotting!

Come on bubhubbers!!!!! Come and help us out here!!!!

Hey... I had impantation with this baby, but never with my other two...

I didn't have clots tho, just a tiny spot of blood and a very small amount of slight brownish/pink CM... but also had some of those wierd feelings of tightness too....

Sorry I can't help much... If you've never had mid cycle bleeding before... and your cycles are the same every month, then there is a chance it's implantation I guess!

All you can do is wait and see now!! That's the hard part... good luck!! :hugs:

Yes that's exactly what it looks like (It just started again). It's like thick stretchy cm that's mixed with brown/pink blood. Sorry again for the TMI. The "spotting" I have today is different from last night, last nights was brown with clots but was watery, today it's thicker and has pink in it as well, no clots.

I went to gyn today in the hopes of finding out what could be causing this spotting. She did a u/s and has ruled out cysts, polips, hypersensitive folicles, abrasions & infection.

She says it's definately not ovulation bleeding, but says it is possible I o'd early and this could be implantation bleeding. Although she thinks it's more likely a hormonal bleed.

Apparantly there's no way to tell what is causing the bleed until af arrives (or doesn't arrive). Af is due 30th or 31st July, this waits going to send me insaine! :hair:

Hi, i had implantation bleed with my dd which was around the 5wk mark on a 28day cycle, however when i did a home preg test didn't get 2pink lines until i was actually 6wks preg and 2wks after my period would have been due, i don't know why it didn't show up in a home kit cause i was definately 6wks preg as we had an ultrasound to find out why i had spotting, and there was a 6wk old fetus with a healthy heartbeat, now she is a beautiful 4.5mth old. Hope all goes well, i wish you all the best of luck.:wizard:

I have a question about implantation bleeding...is it painful like AF? AF was due for me last Monday. I started spotting Wednesday evening, and for two days it was just a wipe here and there of pink or brown CM (sorry for the TMI!!!). This morning I got the first real bit of blood, but it's really mucousy and not much has happened since. Cramps quite bad today. Started cramping 10 days ago on and off each day. I did hpt's last sunday and thurs - both BFN. Never had anything like this before - Help!!! :hair:

Hi Fludo,

What I had lasted 3 days and I didn't have any pain just discomfort from my abdomen tightening. Although I still don't know if this is or isn't implantation bleeding.

I did quite a bit of reading on implantation bleeding and some articles said you can get mild cramps that mimic af.

Thanks Teyla. I know it wasn't implantation bleeding as AF finally arrived. Think I may have had a really early m/c.

When do you test?

Teyla

:hugs: Sorry to hear that Fludo.

Not quite sure when to test? af isn't due for another 7 days.

I never had any signs of implantation bleeding. Just days before finding out i had :bfp: I was crying at the drop of a hat and i thought i was emotional cause the gyno had just said i might not be o'ing properly. MMMM, i think i may have had some cramps and af pain, cant really remember, but no spotting.
(1 day before :bfp: i had pulling, cramping, sharp pain 10cm below my belly button)

Hi Teyla, About another week to wait for you then. You can test before AF is due with more sensitive tests though but I never believe a BFN if I get it before AF due.

Teyla

7 very long days to wait! :banghead:

I'm trying to wait till Thursday before I use one of those "test before your due date" HPT's.

Singa06 that's about where the tightening/stretching is in my lower abdomen. I haven't had any pain, it just feels strange & uncomfortable.

Try and keep busy this week to take your mind off it! (It won't work, but best try something! ) Good luck!

Definately wont be taking my mind off it!

I'm trying to find out if I can still have the MRI I'm booked in for on Thursday arvo. So I've had to talk about it most of the morning. And still haven't got a yes or no, I'm waiting for the spinal surgeon to call me back.

I'm about to give in and go down the road to get a test.

I had that sort of thing last cycle. I don't want to alarm you It happens because I had a chemical pregnancy which is where the egg is fertilized but its not viable for some reason. Ur AF will come late if this is so.
Sorry Its a bit doom and gloom but just thought u would want to know all options.

I have had cramping last night so bad I had to get up and take something. I am Day 21.

SO lets keep our:fingerscrossed: and keep the:babydust2: flowing and hope we both get it this cycle.

No harm in testing, but just remember if you get a BFN, it's probably just too early, so no getting upset!

I would test if its a few days after pain cause it could very well show up as HPT can sometimes be detected then. It cant hurt :fingerscrossed:

I'm looking at it this way if I am pg great I'll be over the moon, but if I'm not it gives my back another month to repair itself.

Gave into temptation and tested :bfn: , not a big surprise, I just live in hope:p

No worries Teyla. Try again in a few days, and use first morning urine as it is the most concentrated (as you haven't had any fluids for 8 hours or so), so you are most likely to get a BFP early with first morning urine.

I'm starting to feel really :barf: , it's probably just a coincidence though. I had another smear of blood on Tuesday and thought af was coming, but it was one smear (not big enough to be classed as a spot) and nothing else since. This is truely wierd  .

I had to postpone my MRI until I find out, I didn't realise they wont do one even if there's a slight possibility of being pregnant.

Hi again! Here's hoping it's just more implantation bleeding for you.

Can I ask what is up with your back? Glad to hear they are being really careful with scans and stuff, but must be kinda frustrating too.

Hi Fludo,

Apparantly an MRI can "light up the baby" - MRI technicians words  .

My back  - Long story short I was in an accident last year and the impact pushed my L5/S1 disc onto my sciatic nerve. I lost the sensation in my lower left leg and have been in agony since. I had surgery in May to get the disc off the nerve, it was so badly imbedded in the nerve the surgeon had move the nerve around. In doing this he caused nerve damage, which was supposed to be temporary & subside after a few weeks. It hasn't subsided, I still have no sensation in my lower left leg and the pain has intensified since the surgery. The MRI was to see if they caused more damage than they first thought. :banghead:

Sounds like a nightmare! I hope things get better for you soon - a BFP might help! Actually, would being pregnant cause you more pain? (well, yes of course it will, but I mean related to your back!)

Teyla
27-07-2007, 10:06 AM
Yes and No.

I believe when your pregnant your body releases some form of hormone that relax's your back muscles, which is supposed to relieve pain. The downside is it also relax's all the tendons, ligiments & muscles that support your back, making it easier to cause more damage.

The pressure of the added weight will definately be a problem and may result in me having to spend the last couple of months in bed & having to give birth at 8 months. That's worse case scenario. Even if that happens I think it will be well worth it.

Hi Teyla,
Just wondering how long your (implantation?) bleeding went on for, and if you did indeed turn out to be pregnant? I think I might be having implantation bleeding but not sure what's normal...
