Hey
I am wanting to christen my new mixer and was wonder if anyone had some good simple recipies anything from biccies to cakes anything!!
(havnt unpacked my cook books and am too scared to find the box they are in  )
Thanks
I will pull out my recipe book tomorrow and post a couple for you. Have done both mine and DP's tax tonight so have to get away from the computer for now!
This is my very basic choc cake recipe..
3 tbspoons butter
1 cup SR Flour
3/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup milk
2 level tbspoons cocoa
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs
Melt butter, pour into dry ingredients, Beat well.
Put in greased tin and bake at 180 for 30 minutes or until cooked.
Jam Drops
125 gms butter
1/3 cup castor sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tspoon vanilla essence
1 cup plain flour
Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and egg yolk mix well.
Fold in flour, roll into balls, place on greased tray leaving a bit of room for spreading.
Poke a dint in the middle with your finger, put some jam in the hole.
Bake at 160 for 10-12 minutes or until slightly browned.
You can also dip the top of them in 100's and 1000's for simple yummy colourful biccies if you have some one not a fan of jam drops.
These biscuits (cookies) have an oaty, golden syrup flavour. On the day of baking, they are crunchy on the outside. During storage, they develop a softer texture.
Makes about 25 biscuits.
120g butter
2 tablespoons (40ml) golden syrup
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 cup plain flour
3/4 cup caster sugar
1 tablespoon (20ml) boiling water
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius (140 degrees fan-forced). Line two large baking trays with baking paper.
Place butter and golden syrup in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Combine oats, coconut, flour and sugar in a large bowl.
When butter has melted, combine soda and boiling water in a small bowl and stir into butter and golden syrup mixture.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
Roll heaped teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls and place about 5cm apart on tray.
Flatten the balls with a fork.
Bake for about 16-19 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown (a longer cooking time will produce a crisper, drier biscuit). Cool biscuits on trays or wire racks.
Store cooled biscuits in an airtight container.
