What do you all do with your 2yr olds? I need some ideas. MJ is happy amusing herself, but I feel bad & feel as though I should be doing things with her (like not sitting here :o). She loves watching Dora, Hi5 & Doodlebops & talking with them & doing required actions etc. She loves counting etc.
Idea's please, I feel like such a bad mum for asking :(

OK gonna bump this.
We already colour & draw, paint, use playdough (ok I use it, she picks it appart), sing nursery rhymes, alphabet & count. As well as just copying each other, makeing silly faces etc.
Any other ideas?
do you have a sand pit? Abby loves sand and water play...so messy but she loves it!

Millie loves walking...not being in a pram, but walking. We go for long walks around the farm and she takes her bucket and collects things.....she can WALK! I say, "home Millie?" and she says "No, more, more".

Shannon- putting on the music & crazy dancing is always fun in our house, both of my girls love it! Summer tries to copy the way I dance
Other things we do are have tea cup parties, ring a ring rosies, arts & crafts, we draw nana & grandad letters and drawings then walk up to the post box and send it.
Will write more when I think of some!

You're not a bad mum. We all need ideas from time to time :hugs:
Sandpit.
Bucket or basin of water with bubbles and treasures hidden at the bottom for her to feel for (small animal toys, big shells & stones, etc).
Stickers to decorate anything.
Trace around hands & colour them in. Or if you can find a big sheet of paper, trace right around her and do a life size picture of her.
Cubby houses & forts in the lounge. Have a snack or picnic in there.
Balloon swatting with flyswatters or similar.
Buy her a feather duster to help you clean.
i always feel guilty when i see DD bored and trying to destroy things around the house. we just play outside and have running races (obviuosly cant do that whilst pregnant) or we play shops - she has a little purse and she buys things from me - usually ice cream hehehehe.

bubbles are great. i sit on a chair and blow them and beth runs around trying to catch them. works for at least an hour. then she is tired enough for a nap.

Zara LOVES to make 'necklaces' - get some of that cereal with the hole in it (like Froot Loops, honey O's etc....) and make necklaces by threading them onto string. Then eat them at the end :D
It's very good for their fine motor skills
Make puzzles: get an A4 bit of paper, draw a dog of something on it, then cut if up so she has to put it back together, iykwim.
Also, if you can manage a walk, (I didn't know you had SPD, you poor thing :hugs:) Zara's fave thing to do at the moment is to name the colour of every car that drives past, or is parked in a driveway.

We do this too, but the other way around. DD uses a basket or bag and runs around the house collecting all the things that I ask to buy from her :)

I bought a white board magnetic style and drew the numbers 1 to 10 on it and also a few letters from the alphabet. I know its fiddly but then i cut out the letters so we could stick them on the right letter or number etc. I also did a few pictures to represent the letters, ie c for cat, c for chocolate, etc etc you get the drift i am sure :D
DD is two and a half now and we often play with it but the rules are that we have to say the letter and number as we pic it up takes time but she did eventually learn. Once all the letters and numbers are stuck up i point to each one and tell her to tell me what they mean and we match an animal/picture with them too.
If you dont want to get a whiteboard just stick some butchers paper to your fridge to draw on, or a whilteboard marker so you can remove it easily :) DD loves it! Great when i am cooking too she can play but i can still keep an eye on her.
DD loves drawing too as well but i have started doing my own dot to dots with her up to the number 15 (this is what i know she can count to without my help) and she will do them too just print a pic of the net something basic and then copy it without the lines. For colours i print off those sheets that have numbers for each colour, 1 - pink etc 2 - green....i make sure they are only in about 5 or so colours not to confuse her plus she can do it without much help so she learns as well!
This is just some of the stuff we do and she loves it plus shes learning as well too which is even better :)

Thanks Punkbaby, thats fantastic  We do have a blackboard & whiteboard for her. And magnets. Might get one of those posters with the alphabet on it so the magnets can go on that.
Was thinking of getting some kindy books, I know they are older, but she loves learning.
Forgot to add, MJ is right into counting at the moment & can count up to 15. Might have to do more counting games.
