Thought I would be sicker. Surprised by others interest.

Best bit about being pregnant~
eat anything, minimal weight gain, feeling bub kick and move

Worst bit about being pregnant~
ligament stretching, uncomfortable (at end), waiting for DD to arrive

Describe your birth in three words~
Nerve wracking, painful, ending in emergency Caesar

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined? Yes, I deep down new I could have a caesar. (although I tried natural at first) That didn't concern me - but it being an emergency with DD heart rate lowering - very anxious time.

Best part of the birth?
Finally seeing DD......

Pain and worry

Great idea!

Describe your pregnancy in three words~
Fast, exciting, transfiguring

Was it what you had hoped/wished/thought it would be like?
It was how I imagined pregnancy almost exactly! I was amazed at how easily I carried the extra weight out front. I was however surprised when the SPD hit!

Best bit about being pregnant~
Feeling him moving around, and responding to me, and my lovely huuuge belly!

Worst bit about being pregnant~
The pelvic pain, nasty business.

Describe your birth in three words~
Surprising, fast, exhilarating!

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined?
Nope, I never expected a caesar, but as for wanted; yes it was all I could want in terms of people listening to my wishes, DH being right there with me the whole time, the perfection of meeting my boy, and him being in tip-top shape.

Best part of the birth?
When DH leaned past the curtain for a squiz and said "it's a boy" and smiled, as this also meant to me "it's a real human baby and it's alive!"

Worst part of the birth?
Waiting 3 hours after the epidural for them to decide I could have my caesar. I hated having my legs nearly entirely numb, and not being able to feel my baby move.

Describe your baby in three words or less~
Cheeky, sociable, perfection.

Best bit about being a mummy so far?
That I fall asleep, and wake up beside my little boy every day.

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far?
That he wont sleep in the day, so I can't get anything done around the house!

Any other comments~
I think in hindsight, I should have hired a cleaner before my induction so I didn't have a messy house to come home to, as now I feel like I'll never get on top of the mess again.
Oh, and sometimes I feel I gave birth to a toddler!!!

It wouldn't have been nearly so much fun so far without my March Mums!

Describe your pregnancy in three words~ Sick (literally), amazing, hot!

Was it what you had hoped/wished/thought it would be like? No, I was sick to week 26, then from week 30 to birth. I only started enjoying it from week 30+ really. Although I miss being prg now & feeling a little miracle moving inside me.

Best bit about being pregnant~ Feeling Ella move inside me, kicking etc, scans, new clothes & looking good when fat! Lol.

Worst bit about being pregnant~ Being so sick and tired.

Describe your birth in three words~ Painful (when induced & drug free), easy (when epi went in!) and quick (when I had emergency c/s).

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined? Yes as I always assumed I would follow in my mother's footsteps by not progressing through labour & ending in an emergency c/s. It would've been amazing to give birth naturally (half the march mums had it so quick & I was so inspired) but my body & baby would not have coped.

Best part of the birth? When we agreed to have a c/s as I knew I would be meeting Ella very soon! And also when he pulled Ella out & they pulled curtain down for us to see her. Oh & when I held her for the first time.

Worst part of the birth? That the gel hadn't worked overnight & my waters couldn't be broken next morning. The fact I was not progressing, I had to have a gross cathetar inserted into cervix to dilate me (this killed!!).

Describe your baby in three words or less~ Practically Perfect in every Way!

Best bit about being a mummy so far? Everything. I have always wanted to be a mummy!

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far? Lack of sleep and having a sh!t 2 door car where everything keeps going wrong!!

Any other comments~ I agree - I couldn't have done it without my March Mummies!

Fluid retention/carpel tunel.
The attention people give you.

Describe your birth in three words~
LONG, drugFk'ed, Surreal

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined?
i was dead against wanting an epidural but after not dilating was begging for it. Was hoping to just stay n the Birth center but knew I needed to go to the delivery suit.

Best part of the birth?

Hey thought this might be a fun way to reflect on our pregnancies, births and our baby's! Fab Idea!!

Describe your pregnancy in three words~ Hot (summer no air con), Frustrating, Great Hair, and skin (Ooops that's four) LOL.

Was it what you had hoped/wished/thought it would be like? Not sure how exactly, i guess i imagined the whole "oh your glowing" thing.

Best bit about being pregnant~ Knowing that we had made a miracle, and having great shiny healthy hair and the best skin i have had in years.

Worst bit about being pregnant~ Damn Hormones going up and down, the stress, tiredness, anxiety, cankles, stretch marks, not being able to sleep on my tummy - generally being uncomfortable thanks to the Summer heat.

Describe your birth in three words~ Very scary, yet exciting

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined? No i was hoping for a Vag Birth, but alas it wasn't meant to be.

Best part of the birth? Seeing my gorgeous wrinkly, red, white and blue son, after he had been born being held up to see mummy... peeing on me and the Dr's... HI MUM! LOL! The excitement of his first cry. PHEW!

Worst part of the birth? Too much to mention, but in short, Staff at the hospital except the delivery midwive and janitor (i think that is what he was called - the guy who's hands i squeezed off during the spinal - thanks mate!!) The Spinal (eeewww and yeeouch), laying on the table and Pete not being in there (yet).

Describe your baby in three words or less~ WOW! Gorgeous! Happy!

Best bit about being a mummy so far? The smiles, the fact that he knows that i am MUMMY, The fact that he looks to me for comfort and cuddles, and that i make him feel warm and fuzzy as he does me. The excitement in his face when i enter the room. The chattering, the farts, awww everything, except below LOL!

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far? Not knowing if/when something is wrong and what to do (although getting better at this now). The days when i need a break but Dp doesn't understand this concept and says **** like "why did you have him if you cant handle it" O.o MEN! ... It's not that i dont want him fool, it is because i am running around looking after him and you and you just dont get it do you. Sigh. Aside from that nothing so far. (Oh and of course the early days and lots of feeds was quite draining recovering from my traumatic c/s / hospital stay)

Any other comments - Yep! Baby number 2 if there is a number 2 will be conceived in time for a winter pregnancy .. either that or i am getting Air Con. HA! HA! ;)

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined? for the most part - induction, but no drugs, birth suite, but birth centre midwife

Best part of the birth? picking bub up off the mat

Worst part of the birth? needing stitches again

Describe your baby in three words or less~ happy, healthy, beautiful

Best bit about being a mummy so far? all of it

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far? coordinating big kids with bub

Here goes.....

Describe your pregnancy in three words~ hot, tiring (chasing a toddler), amazing

Was it what you had hoped/wished/thought it would be like? yep, although I thought I might not have morning sickness like the first time around but how wrong I was!

Best bit about being pregnant~ Feeling your baby move, knowing that it is a part of me and DH, pregnancy tummy (which I miss) and trying to guess the sex !!

Worst bit about being pregnant~ heat, pelvic problems, sickness and the worry of how my Son would handle the new addition.

Describe your birth in three words~ Amazing, Exciting, Quick

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined? Yes and more.....it was the best birth experience and I was amazed at how I handled it this time around and how easy it was!

Best part of the birth? Seeing her take her first breath!

Worst part of the birth? Her hand was up to her face so she got stuck and that was a little uncomfortable, and when I watch the video of it I realise how stuck she was and the nurse was really pulling on her poor little head:eek:

Describe your baby in three words or less~ blue eyed possum!!

Best bit about being a mummy so far? Everyday is such a joy not matter how tough the night has been. To watch your kids grow and reach milestones is amazing. Also watching my daughter interact with my Son and how she giggles at him!! just beautiful.

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far? when they are sick and you cant do anything about it - just breaks your heart.

Any other comments - I'm happy that I had an amazing birth and being a parent is the BEST thing in the whole world! Nothing beats it...

Describe your pregnancy in three words~

QUICK!

Having a baby growing inside you

Worst bit about being pregnant~

Swollen ankles & discomfort!

Describe your birth in three words~

Emotional
Unexpected
L-O-N-G!!

Did you get the birth you wanted/imagined?

No. I wanted a VBAC and we gave it a go, but after 4 days of irregular & painful contractions & 3 days after my waters broke, and still no baby, we opted for a repeat c/s.

Best part of the birth?

Finally getting to meet our bub after such a long & anxious labour!

Worst part of the birth?

The amount of time it took for Owen to arrive! And the fact that I had to have a repeat c/s, rather than the VBAC I so desperately wanted.

Clever
Incredible!

Best bit about being a mummy so far?

Watching my kids interract with each other.

Hardest thing about being a mummy so far?
