Its my DH's 30th soon and we are having a massive party but we have decided it would be fun to theme it....

We sort of just want a basic theme that doesnt require people to go all out... sort of like

"Cool and Classy"

We want people to doll up a bit ... kwim?

Anyone got any awesome ideas?

We've done a few things....

recently, we did a kids Pirates & Princesses Party ...but some of the parents (including us) got dressed up and it was fun.

Also, we've done

a Hawaiian night - still has the easy gig for the blokes and the chance for a flower in the hair, etc for the girls
we replicated a night at the Breakfast Creek Hotel but we called it "*****'s (insert DH's nickname) Bar & Grill" and set it up like the pub, including the flashing OPEN sign
80's night - covers a complete range of fashion & fun
a Zsa Zsa Gabor night...plenty of glamour & suits in that one
a Titanic night
a Hollywood night
Heroes night - come as a character/person you admire/enjoyI think that's the extent of my memory.

I'm already planning DH's 40th in my mind (ok, he's 38 but I'm an advance planner) as a Lawn Bowls Extravaganza ...everyone in their whites!

Have fun!

My dp and i have started talking about a wedding that may happen in the next few years!!!(whan we have the spare cash!!!) and want to have a formal black and white theme, everyone in black and white! Every man looks good in a black suit! and theres not much more glammourous than a black evening gown!

Dh's cousin had a Black and White theme party. She wore red and looked fantastic as she stood out.

I did hair for a girl's 21st once & her theme was 'The Oscar's" .

Everyone dressed as their favourite movie star, they had a red carpet, pretend paparazzi and awards. It sounded like an absolute blast!!

I have been dying to throw someone an Oscar's Party. Maybe I will throw my Dad one for his 50th

Does he have a favourite movie? We had a Moulin Rouge night recently, the dress code was semi formal and lots of people came dressed in theme as well. So much fun, we decorated the whole foyer in parisian style too.

Does he like James Bond - that would be cool and classy! You could have a lot of fun with that.
