Ok, I am pregnant & we are expecting a little boy & would like some Advice/Help/Support on the subject of circumcision. We are still currently discussing it & have read all the threads etc so feel free to PM me if you don't wish to post here.

Any off topic, critical, insulting posts will be deleted. This is for SUPPORT, I've read all the against.

If anyone can also please PM me with details of doctors who do the procedure on the Central Coast NSW it would be much appreciated.

Are you undecided on the issue? Your OP said you were still discussing it. Do you have any specific questions or concerns?

If you're just looking for general support, there's two ongoing support threads, one for circumcising and one for leaving boys intact.

I don't know anyone that does it on the Central Coast, sorry, there was someone on the North Shore, but unfortuntely he has retired due to cancer. I know there are a few in Sydney. Good luck with your decision, I really wanted to get both boys done, but in the end we didn't. It was infact my DH who decided to leave them, which really surprised me as he is done himself and has no issues with it. As you may know I'm an RN and have seen many a UTI on uncircumcised men. I do know of a Midwife who isn't anti-circ on the Central Coast, if you'd like, I'll ask her if she knows of anyone. Congratulations on your baby boy, boys are cool, not as cool as girls, but still cool.

Hi RB,

Congratulations on expecting a little man.

I havn't had DS done as I read and re-read and re-read all information for and against and that was the decision I came to.

I do know of a doctor on the central coast that does it and will PM you the details.

Thanks for the support ladies.

Mother Nurture, I know there are support threads, I was asking for advice and support for me personally. I know all too well what your views on the subject are.

Hi RB

We had our lil man done when he was 9 days old. We have absolutely no complications and at the start of the appointment we watched a video of the doc explaining to another couple exactly what was going to take place. The doc then came in and went through it thoroughly and answered any questions that we had.
They told us to give lil man a feed as soon as his procedure was finished and we did and he slept for the next 5 hours after it and when he woke up he was fine just hungry ! :)
At the time i didnt want to get him done but am glad that we did now.
People will critisize this decision but we made it on our own and we had our reasons and thats all their is to it.

RB, I have to admit I'm confused about what specifically you are asking for. You said you are discussing, and you have read the threads, and you would like doctors details.

So do we take that to mean that you have decided to have him done?

And if not (ie you haven't yet decided), what specific advice do you want?
And what kind of support are you looking for?

C.

To quote my original post
This is for SUPPORT, I've read all the against.

It is MY CHILD, my DH & I are discussing things. We will also discuss them with Drs, hence why I am asking for Drs names in my area. There are alot of things to consider, .

I don't believe re-hashing all the arguments against circumcision & making those who choose to do it feel bad. There are more than enough threads posted by people against circ. This is specifically for me to gain information & support should we wish to get it done.

Woah! I wasn't trying to start an argument. Like I said, I was confused about what you were looking for and I certainly wasn't insulting or critical.

...would like some Advice/Help/Support on the subject of circumcision. We are still currently discussing it & have read all the threads etc ...

I'm sorry I didn't interpret that to mean "Please provide me with your positive circumcision stories". To be honest, I'm still not exactly sure what you want... You've read all the against, so presumably you've read all the "for" as well. What else do you want to know?

No arguement here either :) Just wanting this to be a positive thread. As i've said i've read all the against, & thanks to many members for PMing me their stories from both sides.

Hey there,
I had my little boy done when he was 6 weeks old. Dr Anthony Dilley did it, he is in Sydney and I would highly reccommend. We are planning another baby sometime in the near future and if it turns out to be a boy, we will be getting him done aswell.

DS's penis looked a bit sore to start with, but didn't seem to be giving him any pain. We just kept some panadol up to him the first few days, and rubbed vaseline on it as directed by the Dr to stop it from sticking to his nappy. After about 2 weeks, it looked great - and since his circumsision we have had no problems at all.

Congrats on your pregnancy and goodluck with the birth of your son.:)
