Hi Ladies,
I've often wondered if I'm doing the "right" thing with DD when she's awake.
She sometimes get tummy time (which is not long at all cuz she doesn't like it that much), she'll sit in her rocker and watch me or try to get as much of her hands in her mouth, sometimes we watch 10 mins tv together (I found that too much tv time gets her over stimulated very quickly). Often we'll chat for a little while :D.
With her being awake for longer, I'm wondering what do you do with/to your 12 weeks old bub? Sometimes I don't know what to do with/to her!

My bub loves her playgym and spends alot of time bashing up her toys!
She also loves watching her older brother run around OR I pop her in her sling and she comes around the house with me doing stuff
Shes easily entertained at this stage and imo they dont need much to keep them stimulated.
I think the one thing I should od more of is talk to her, i find alot of my time is spent talking and engaging her brother and have less time for her:o

Skye is just happy to sit in her rocker for a few minutes with her play gym, she also has tummy time for a few minutes at a time and Hayley talks to her too. I pick her up and talk and sing songs to her and the tv is on too so she likes that I think.

Troy is either under his playgym bashing his toys, in his rocker watching Baby Einstein which he just LOVES, or in the pram with a couple of rattles. We put the jolly jumper up for him a couple of weeks ago, but the chain is 2ft too short and he is 2ft off the floor, lol, so until I can lengthen the chain, he can't use it unless I put the card table under him.

usual toys as mentioned and just interaction, talking to and general yabber and being a dork ( no matter how silly or undignified!! hehe)... ..and getting out doors is great in the fresh air lotsa things to hear and see, walks in pram, sitting in bouncer outside playing with some toys while u read the paper
there is no so called "right" thing to do.. follow ur instincts... sounds like ur doing a great job!!!

Just gaze at them, hold them, talk to them, cos before you know it, they will be answering back, off to play with friends, wanting the car keys, slamming doors, hurting your ear drums with badly played scales on the piano and breaking your heart. And then you will remember those special times when they were totally dependant on you!
And then one day they walk in, grab you in a bear hug and gaze DOWN at you and say 'I luv ya mum' Valentine

hehehehe....
It was 2.2 here yesterday, but with the wind chill it was only MINUS 2.5!!
I do all of the above as well!
We have just moved, and have alot of work to do out the back in the garden (Im making a vege patch), so he loves sitting in his pram or rocker out the back watching us.
Im about to set up his jolly jumper, but havent charged my batteries for the camera, and cant possibly put him into it without a 'first' photo lol....
I love to make him smile, so alot of our time is spent singing with him (DH does that bit, lmao), or tickling him etc, etc!
I meant to say that Baby Einstein is the best thing ever, the beautiful Jeanette sent me some, and it is a Godsend, he loves them!
How are you, Maggie, and how is your PLG? Sounds like you are doing a great job, by the way, shes gorgeous! great to see you again.....

No worries, I'm glad he loves them. If I get any more, I'll make sure I send them your way again.

Hi Jodi,
The precious little one is doing well. Hubby complained that she sounds like a broken record now - she learnt how to do raspberries a few days ago and now whenever we start talking to her, she'll blow raspberries at us and smile! I think she's very proud of herself. :D How are you? How's your little one coping with the move?
Baby Einstein hmmm ... and jolly jumper ... I shall give them a go! The girlie sometimes looks bored sitting in the rocker watching mummy cook (I think she looks bored). Thanx ladies!

My bub likes to be "entertained" a lot...has big wide eyes always looking around. A lot like her brother was:eek: , looks like I'm in for another active one!
I too put her in the rocker with a toy bar, in the portacot under a playgym (away from big brother), tummy time, bring her with me in the sling and talk/sing to her. She loves faces and being talked...she is just full of smiles when she gets attention!

Ebony loves her playmat, she can reach up to her toys and whack them, she also loves sitting in her rocker and watching her sisters play or chewing her fists LOL
We also have tummy time and nappy off time and she loves being sung and spoken to!

Ooh, thats good to hear, blowing raspberries, how sweet, I cant wait for that!! Imagine the dribble, hahaha....
Id def. go with a jolly jumper, look on ebay, you can get them cheap on there sometimes, they are the best invention ever! He did well with the move, first few days he was a little out of his zone, but hes great now, it was funny, we went back after a couple of days, to do the final lockup, and he slept the whole time after being unsettled the whole day, must have been like "ooh, Im home", hehehehe....
As for the baby einstein, they are great, just perfect for this age, lol, Charlotte likes them too, and she is 4!! so they last a long time..
great to see you babe!
love Jodie
Thos Jolly Jumpers look great, anyone know who makes them? Where do I get one? How old are they when they first go in them?
As for activities during the day, Annalise sits in her rocker watching me cook / clean / sing and carry on. She loves being talked to and reading books as well as sitting under her activity centre mat thing.

Twitch.... you can buy them on ebay or Big W has them as well. I think i got mine for $39.99.
Thats where i got Jacobs from, although Jacob is a little young for it yet.
You can also buy stands for them as well not sure how much they are though, the baby shop in town sells them.
The age on the box says from 3 months. Hope that helps.
