Hi Everybody,

I am having a birthday party for my little girl next week and need some ideas on party food. I am wanting finger food hot or cold. The ideas I have so far are Homemade sausage rolls, chocolate crackles, cup cakes, cut up vegies with dip.

Any suggestions and recipes would be great. I would prefer to make the food than buy it.

Thanks heaps girls.

WHat about home made apricot balls, or chocolate balls, I have good easy recipes for both if you would like them and they can be made in advance and kept in fridge ready for the day.

And... umm thinking back to DD's 2nd birthday last month..

Mountain bread spread with avocado and ham, rolled up and cut into small peices (these are very yummy!)

Good luck with your party!

a very easy thing I do sometimes is a platter of dried apricots & fresh strawberries(if they're available), maybe marshmallows if you'd like, and serve with a chocolate dipping sauce

What about puff pastry scrolls? Vegemite/vegemite & cheese, ham/cheese.....the list is endless....you could do jam ones too i guess, if you want sweet ones?

Get a sheet of puff pastry, spread it lightly with tomato paste, add diced ham and grated cheese. Roll up tightly, wrap in glad wrap and put in fridge for 20 mins (to firm up again). Slice into 2cm pieces, put on greased tray and cook at 180C for about 15 mins or until cooked.

All the others are similar, and went down a treat at our parties!

Hi, you could make a big batch of scones, a basic biscuit mix divided into thirds leaving one third vanilla, one chocolate & the last one sultana.
Red savloys, fetta & spinach triangles, profiteroles are really easy (choux pastry) & can be filled with thick custard, kids love them.
Pizza made on lavash bread or pitta bread are easy & can be made up before hand & cooked last minute.
Have fun!

Chocolate spiders are always a treat and they cost near nothing to make.
