You ladies are such a great source of info that I thought I would ask about FDC?
I am supposed to be going to uni full time next semester (only 10 hrs contact though) and DS is booked into a great CCC. But for next year I thought we might try FDC. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with FDC? I live in northern suburbs, but would be prepared to drive a bit for the right FDC.
Cheers :)

Sorry I can't help as I've never sent my DD to a FD carer but I'm sure your DS will be in great hands because to do FDC you need to have Early Childhood qualifications or the equivalent CC certificates. Also, the children get more individualised care.
I'd check out your white pages to find someone close to you and then I'd ask to go and see them in action with other kids on a typical day.

I have no personal experience here either but my mum used to be a FDCarer and there are ALOT of dodgy places, especially in the North. But in saying that, also alot of very good ones, check out a few before deciding i say. ( i live in the north so i can bag it - hehe )

Goodluck on your search

Ive kind of had self experience with FDC.
Hubbys aunt in qld has been a fdc person for 20 years. we left bayden with her while we went out and it was great. She could only have a max of 5 kids or something and all the kids were older about baydens age plus and they had been going there all their lives.
