Hi all,
I have a sleeping problem and I've just about had enough of it.
I've never been a good sleeper, takes me at least 45 mins to fall asleep on the best nights, but over the past couple of weeks, whenever I go to bed I am WIDE awake - I just have to get up because there is absolutely no way I would fall asleep.
So I get up, and I don't get the tiniest bit tired till about 6am.
I have to force myself to get into bed and try to sleep (takes a while) before 4am, as I've got kids to look after in the morning....

The past two nights I tried something different, went to bed at 7:30pm and fell asleep easily (but if I try and later I can't sleep) - but didn't wake up till 8:30am when the girls woke up, and was still really tired when I woke up then - but that's 13 hours sleep - how could i be tired after that
I understand that you can oversleep, but generally you wake up at a normal time first, and are only stuffed if you keep sleeping right? Well I didn't wake up at normal time (I'd expected 5-6am, going to bed at 7:30pm).

I've tried doing exercise, no caffeine, warm drink, warm bath, oils, :ecomcity: I've tried everything and nothing is helping.

Every morning I feel like I've been hit by a truck .

Sorry this is long and all over the place but I am SO tired of this (but can't sleep!) and my mind is such a mess from weeks of hardly any sleep that i can barely think straight :banghead:

What do I do? Besides seeing my doctor?

i have always been a bad sleeper and worse since the accident i take magnesium tablets and they tend to relax me so i stop tossing and turning all night :)

13 hours sleep is heaps! i have about 5 to 6 but its a solid sleep and i feel great :)

Maybe look into these, otherwise try reading before bed that helps as well

I usually get 5-6 hrs a night, and function ok. Feel tired and want to go to bed but dont seem to get there.

The nights that I do fall asleep early and get 8+hrs, I wake up feeling like I've turned to stone and been run down!

You obviously need the sleep - maybe try the very early bedtime for a couple of weeks and see if that dopey morning feeling improves? If it doesn't then, yeah, I'd go to my GP.
