I am cooking up some rib fillet for tea tonight.
I would like to make a gravy or sauce to go with it.
Can anyone help me with a recipe? ( I usually use packet mixes but don't have any and can't get to the shop)

This is my cheating gravy . I never use packs .. but this is how I get away with making a quickie.
Heat up water, ad beef or veg or chicken stock - in powder, if you have the real stock omit the water.
Heat up, ad 2 table spoons of plain flour mixed with cold water - that will make it thick. And than just add spices and herbs you like. I use mustard as well.

my fav steak sauce to make is mushrooms, cream & a teaspoon of mustard .
for a basic gravy remove meat from pan ,add a little plain four (will soak up juices)to the pan & a little stock & stir.
YUMMMO Enjoy your yummy dinner.

chopp mushrooms ,or leave whole if they are little ones ,saute in a pan with a little butter & dash of oil (or one or the other) add cream ,depending on how many mushrooms you have ,but really no need for precice messurements , & then add about a teaspoon of mustard ( i use wholegrain looks purtty too) ,just taste sometimes you may want to add a little more of either the cream (if the flavour is too strong or you have added to much mustard) or add alittle more mustard ,& cracked pepper .
no structure really, i use the same sause for pasta aswell & add chicken onion & bacon ,omg i am getting a craving !!!!!!lol

I made the sauce the other night, it was so yummy and DH really loved it, he said to pass on this thanks and
I added a little bit of cornflour to the mix, just to thicken it up a bit. Very nice indeed.
