I am looking at laybying one of these for DS who is 19mnths and 15kg. He will soon grow out of his car seat, and we want to put him into a booster with a 5 point harness. Can someone let me if they have it and what they think of it.
It is going to available at Target (look in toy catalogue online), but not sure how much for. If you have one can you let me know roughly how much you paid for it?

I am pretty sure that Choice rated that booster very highly - a quick google check maybe?
The Hipod Barcelona will be on sale in the Target Toy Sale for $159

Wow thats an awesome price, I paid $185 for mine, I just picked it up yesterday, from layby, and I LOVE IT!!!
It is so great for my 2.5 year old, we had a normal booster seat that MIL gave us, and I wasn't happy about the way it moved everywhere, and the seat beat didn't stay in place.
The Hipod is awesome!! For the first time since Noah moved to a booster (which was a while ago since he is 16+ kgs and tall) he didn't pull his seat belt over head when the car stopped. He doesn't move at all because of the way the seat belt goes into the booster. It looks and feels so lush, I really really love it and reccomened this booster to everyone  :D
We have a hatch back, so we can't use the harness, plus we have another car seat aswell, but I am very impressed at how much more secure this booster is, even just anchored and using the side seat belt
If that is the seat I am thinking of...I remember someone telling me that you can't use a harness with it, only the normal car seat belt...I could be wrong tho, but check that before you buy it if you want to use a harness with it :)
Still, even with just the normal seat belt, it's gotta be alot safer than the boosters that don't have an anchor strap.

I doesn't come with the harness but you can use one with it
the hippod CANNOT be used with anything other than an adult lap/sash seat belt. it does NOT have a 5 point harness.
I would rather pay $350 for a safe and sound maxirider, they are:
suitable from 8-26 kilos
have inbuilt 5 point harness to 18 kilos
can then be used from 18-26 kilos with a H harness and a clip between the legs to stop the child slipping through(or 'submarining' as it is called)
have arm rests and cup holders(lol not impoortant but cool)
are the tallest booster available
seat reclines(not very low but noticeable for smaller kids/ease of use in certain cars)
deep side wings for maximum side impact protection
they are well worth the money, I have two. to me, no amount of money is too much for the safety and peace of mind of the best car seats for my kids :) the hipod is hardly even able to be compared in my opinion.

hoopdeedoo no you can not, I rang and asked HIPOD and they said it is ONLY ot be used with a normal adult seat belt that comes in your car, this was a major factor in me buying one as i was going to get the hipod but found the maxi
ok just rang them again, they said only adult belt...
another thing, the maxi rider H harness can be clipped into the actual anchor point, so the seat anchors into the car, then the H harness anchors onto the seat up near the car anchor point.
here is a link to the H harness

Hi, I bought the Hipod Barcelona today from Target. I has clearly printed on the box that it is now compatible with a safety harness. So after reading all your posts I rang Hipod. And the lady confirmed that this is a brand new model, and that it's now compatible with a safe 'n sound safety harness!
Just thought I let you know. :)

 I was looking at these too, as we need something for DH's car and our parents cars for the children.
At what age/weight does it say you can use the harness? We have a 21 month old that weighs probably 13 - 14 kgs...would the harness be suitable for him?

With the new car seat laws they need to have an inbuilt harness till they are 4 or 20kg. The maxirider and the hipod SENATOR at Target have this feature as does the explorer and these all go to 26 kg and have the anti-sub clip
