View Full Version : Pumpkin Patch disappointment

So, my mum bought Ava this gorgeous little Pumpkin Patch jumper recently. She's worn it a couple of times... not for very long periods of time, though.

Anyway my mum visited recently and was doing all my washing (god bless her).
She picked up the little jumper and was admiring it because it's so darn cute and then all of a sudden she starts talking about how badly it was made.
So I walked over to her and she showed me how the little embellishments of wool weren't secured properly on the jumper. We turned it inside out to find that they were basically just looped through a couple of times and hooked under.

She pulled out three with barely a soft tug.
One was all frayed and coming loose by itself.

The jumper probably cost my mum at least $50 knowing PP. I'm kind of disgusted to tell you the truth. You get better quality kids clothes for half the price at Target. I'm probably being pedantic, but I just figure that if you have to pay more for a babies jumper than you would an adults then it should be good quality.
Ava could have easily pulled the woolen threads out herself and choked on them.
God knows there's no way it would have held up for long after being washed a few times.

I was always under the impression that PP made good quality clothing and that's why they were so bloody expensive. Apparently I was mistaken.
I'm rather peeved.

Is anyone else having problems posting new threads? I tried posting this a few times with Firefox and it wouldn't work.

Its pretty pathetic if thats the standard quality of thier clothes. I dont buy PP - Its a bit to expensive for me for what it is, although alot of it is very nice. I just cant justify the cost of PP vs. other clothes I've bought for dd.

I'd be taking it back to the shop, with or without a receipt, and showing them the product, and if they do nothing, write a formal complaint. It may have been an isolated incident with a certain batch, or just a few items, but accidents do happen, and kids do choke.

Its certainly not good enough

Its really just my opinion, but to me, PP really aren't worth the cost :o....sorry all you PP fans :p

I think my mum bought it from the online PP store...

I have no idea how you return stuff to them. I should just email them with a complaint and the photo to explain what I mean.

It's a real shame because the jumper is gorgeous and looks lovely on Ava.

I personally don't buy PP because I can't justify the price, but my mum has always loved looking at their clothes. I think she was pretty disappointed at the jumper... especially considering she knits herself.

Even if you bought (or your Mum bought) it online, you can still return it to a PP shop.

I'm not a fan of PP (I do buy their maternity clothes though), I think it's mostly cheap and nasty.
I'm happy to spend more for quality :)

Def return it

Take it back and complain. I buy quite a bit from pumpkin patch and if I've ever had any problems I've always taken things back. The girls who work there are very helpful and I have found in my experiences that Pumpkin Patch always do what they can to help the customer.

I think they would rather know then not. They may have had others take back the same jumper, you never know.
