Hi everyone

We finally got my DHs results back after a 2week wait and the results were a little surprising. The count was 51million, 80% move but only about 10% were of decent quality. Now apparently 15% is normal. My DH & I already have a lovely little DD and she was conceived in around 5mths so I found this result very surprising! Then my OBGYN was going on about IVF etc and I was like whoa slow down!!

My question is has anyone else had similar results and gone on to conceive naturally? Should I be worried!!

Hi we are in the same boat...

1 DD 20 months old concieved first try...
TTC#2 since Nov 06

My DH results...

34million per mL..75% motility...5% Morphology..

We have had no luck as of yet and actually go back to the FS tomorrow to start IVF.. I hope this isnt the case for you but for us it is the next step and we are taking the plunge. Good luck

Oh thanks Britt that reminded me that I had got DH to take zinc tablets the month that we got our :bfp: not sure if that had anything to do with it but it's worth a try....

thanks so much for your feedback everyone. I was so taken aback when I found out but now I'm just really determined to try and make some lifestyle changes and do this naturally. thanks again.

My DD's father had his swimmers tested before we TTC. His were 8% normal (morpology?) anyway, I conceived with the use of ovulation stick tests first time trying. He had a particularly unhealthy diet and lifestyle too. Not saying that's a good idea. Health is important.

Anythings possible! Good Luck!:fingerscrossed:

Thanks so much oleander! It's comforting to hear such positive stories. I figure we conceived once before fairly quickly so hopefully this won't set us back too much!

When we were ttc dd df got him sperm analised and it came back that they were really slow at moving.

But i have gone on to have 2 kids.

DD took 8 months to concieve and ds took 2 months to conceive we are ttc # 3 and am wondering how long it will take this time :).

So many things impact on the lil swimmers. Tight undies, (boxers are best) smoking, drinking, junk food, vitamin intake, exercise.
DF went on a massive health kick when we were TTC DS and we were BFP in under 3 months.
Good Luck!!

Maybe you could look into the natural approach before looking at other options.

When we were ttc our FS gave us a "Sperm Rescue Remedy" :p

L Cartnitine
L Arginine
Zinc
Vitamin E
Selenium
Vitamin C

Pretty sure that the above is it .... apparently it is worth a shot

My DH did take the L Carnitine, Swisse Multi Vitamin plus extra zinc, E and C.

Best of luck

Livy, Do you know if there is 1 tablet my DH can take or would he have to take 5 different tablets a day?

Hahah...isnt that just like men to be absolute babies when it comes to pills?? My dh hates taking them as well! Sheesh!!

He could probably start with a good multi that would definitely help - but most of the other suff like the L Carnitine only comes individually. If he's not keen on taking heaps of tablets - maybe just go with the multi and extra zinc. Zinc is best to take right before bed so it doens't have to compete with other minerals.

Good luck - men are such sooks aren't they :p

Livy, Thanks so much for your help and hopefully I'll be reporting on a nice :bfp: in the near future.

Plump, I know what you mean! I think my DH is happy to take the pills but it's whether he'll remember to take them everyday is the problem!! he he
