View Full Version : Pram for Toddler and Baby !!!
Help please !!
I already have bought 4 prams, I dont really want a tandam, (too bulky).
I have a pram with toddler seat, but DD keeps annoying DS, plus DS is starting to want to sit up I dont like the toddler seat much at all.
I like the Phil & ted, but I read about the baby in bottom touching wheels and it can be dangerous?
also DD is 19months and hates been strapped and rocks and chuck tantrums.
I am also thinking of a twin stoller, which are lightweight, easy to fold a little cheaper than the P&T but I hear that with two kids of different age and weight it can cause difficulties steering. Although DD is 10kg and DS is nearly 8kg so that are not that far apart for weight.
Any thoughts suggestions anything please. Its getting expensive and DP is getting angry with all the prams.
thanks
Lisa

I have a P&T's. I love it ! I have heard about that too. But I hear their hands just get dirty. I also have heard that P&T are looking to solve this problem, might be worth contacting them...

We have a McClaren (side by side) stroller which has been fantastic. It's lightweight, easy to put up and down and we have been using it since DS2 was newborn (the weight difference hasn't been a problem).
I bought it from a friend and am still using it to this day. It's also very easy to manouvre, the only drawback is that you need to use the disabled aisle's in supermarkets etc as it is too wide to fit through the normal aisle's. Hasn't been a problem getting around anywhere else though.
Hope you find the right one for you!

I have only heard of this being a problem with the E3 Version 1 not he Version 2.
The Version 2 was the one released mid last year.;)
I have the Phil & Teds and I think it is excellent,.. especially as it can be used for baby & toddler and then toddler and toddler!
I personally love the look and the notion behind the P&T But there is no way my 2 yr old would sit in the bottom of it at all. she is toooooo inquisitive. Am considering a dual side by side although have a tandem limo and guess in worse case scenario I just use it. It's really hard to know which is best and like you I too have 4 prams AND 3 strollers .... LOL
My biggest hassle is what to do with the tear away 4 yr old?? I'll have a newborn in lying down (tandem or side by side) the 2 yr old strapped in the front, other side and a 4 yr old loose!!! ARGGGGGHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have a 16 month and a newbie and I have a Graco Stadium Duo. Its a tandem and it is FANTASTIC.
It gets through anywhere, and to be honest it is far easier to drive than the single pram I had for DD previously. It has a HUGE basket underneath, canopies for both kids, and toddler sits in front, baby behind, but when baby a toddler, they are slightly higher than the chair in front so they can see.
I tried just about all the tandem and twin prams when expecting and this one was def the best, and def not the most expensive!!
It is really light to carry too, so easy to put in the boot (even after just giving birth:D )
Look at me, I sound like I have shares in the company!!

Mummy 2 -2
do you still recommend the Graco Stadium Duo a few months down the track?
I will have an 18 month at the time the next one is born in June.
I was just looking for a pram, and was interested in the phil and ted, but someone told me that they went down a steep gutter and the gutter hit the babies back or bum that was sitting under, so that turned me off.
I also went in to my local baby shop and asked what pram to get and she gave me a few suggestions but told me not to buy the P&T, she also takes second hand things and has too many mums selling there P&T's due to something going wrong.
I ended up buying a tandem lite. I love it.

I've been researching tandem or toddler seat prams myself and Im still not sure which way to go!
I did like the Phil and Ted but a few things bother me about it. Firstly the fact that the toddler seat is slightly reclined. My DD loves to be up there checking everything out - she's very inquisitive. Also when you place the toddler seat underneath the pram they are so close to the wheels.
It has a lot of good points too but Im not sure if they outweigh the bad points or not.....
I also found this: Choice website (http://www.choice.com.au/viewArticle.aspx?id=104846&catId=100510&tid=100008&p=1) (just click on the link)
I just dont want to buy a pram only to be disappointed with it. Tandem prams are definately more stable, but they're just so bulky!!!!

I just wish I had thought ahead when I bought my first pram and bought a tandem then - but I guess very few people do that especially those of us who have lost a baby to still birth you tend to be a live in the now type.
Thanks everyone for your posts you have been very helpful. I think I am going to go for a Graco or tandem lite as the P&T scares me a little - I just have to get to the shops and make sure it fits in the car - should do I drive a Pajero :-) Yes I have a shopping trolley - but I take it off road as well - just not at the moment with the bundle in the belly :-)
