jake and his reflux

as in one of my new threads about jakes near death exp. after he was in hospital he was then projectile vomiting his bottles. diagnost with reflux and was put on sr26 AR formula. this helped alot and i recommend it to anypne with a reflux baby. he is now almost 3 and still to this day has reflux everynow and again. depending on his meals.

Thanks for letting us know what helped your son once his reflux was diagnosed. Thickened formula can be really helpful for some refluxers, as it obviously was for your son. Sometimes it is the only treatment they need, though it does only tend to help reduce vomiting, not reflux.

Unfortunately, thickened feeds aren't the answer for every refluxer, but it may be worth trying if the parents are happy with the idea (and their child vomits). It's important they seek medical advice if they aren't sure.

Yes the formula helped reduce the vomiting. and thank god it did! nothing worse then having to do over 5 loads of washing a day with clothes and blankets full of vomit. yuckys!! Its just the occasional vomit now, but you can sometimes smell when he burps how strong the acid smell is in his breathe.
