Well, with all the introductions going on, I realised I've never actually introduced myself on here. Though I probably know most of you by now :)

Hi, I'm Martha, and I'm a Bubhub Addict. I'm also one of the moderators on this forum. I currently moderate the pregnancy and due date group threads, but my favorite "must read" sections are the parenting ones, particularly sleeping/settling, and also the Support (depression) section.

I'm 35 (ouch), married and we have one beautiful 2 year old girl. We also have two crazy hyper dogs. I'm Canadian but we've been living in Australia for nearly 5 years, mostly in Perth but just recently moved to Melbourne. I've also lived previously in the UK and in Ghana in West Africa as transfers for my employer.

Hmmm... what else. I was a geeky science nerd turned engineer, then environmentalist. And I'm now slowly working towards another job shift towards the social side of things, looking at development issues and the social impacts of big projects like mines and new dams.

That's me, in a nutshell! See you all around the forums and happy posting!

Hi Martha

This is such a great site. The introductions thread is a fantastic idea.

Sooooo..... you are a moderator aye;)

Does that mean we could get told off on this site? :p

Seriously, Thanks Martha for helping to make this forum so friendly.

Yep. So mind your p's and q's all of you or you'll get a smack with this HUGE ruler :D And if that's gum in your mouth then I certainly hope you brought enough for everybody!

Sorry... got carried away :p

Well, there you go Martha. All this time I've known you and I just learned heaps that I didn't know! Oh, but I knew you were a mod and I had watch my p's and q's. :p

Lovely to have you here and no-one goes anywhere near you for that 'most PC' award. I think you'll have it on your mantle for a very long time. :)

Martha - great introduction. I never introduced myself either - should do it one day!
You know that I love your presence here - keep it up. (I am still in shock that I beat you to 2000 - you really did get your addiction under control!)

As I said when I joined, Martha M, I was a little star struck by you.

I had noticed you had slowed down in the posting stakes.

I thought about it in Hollywood style ... there are the new up & coming celebs who appear at every photo op, and then there are the long term classy broads.... the Meryl Streeps - who appear when they have a quality project worth walking the red carpet for. And I decided this was you! ;)

Nice to have an opportunity to say "welcome to you" in the same way you "welcome to me".

If only you had been Southern, I could have thrown at the "Welcome ya'll" but drats, the Canadian in you prevents me from doing so.

Signed
Take off your hats, there's a lady in the room!

Well, hello Martha - I'm very pleased to meet you - even if it is in a nutshell! Welcome to bubhub, I'm sure you'll fit right in!:p

I also have never introduced myself formally, I'm surprised Draught hasn't either - tsk, tsk - can we have the ruler now please, huh, can we, can we???

I'm a little in awe of your employment record - wow, you're certainly someone who's worked on making a real difference in the world.

See you around the boards!:)

Wow, Thanks all of you lovely ladies. All those warm wishes and welcomes just made my day here. And especially the Meryl Streep comparison, wowee. How did you know she's one of my favorite actresses? :D

Now I think I understand how newbies might feel when they first post an intro and start getting replies!
