Can someone give me some good tasty, healthy sandwich ideas that I can make & freeze?
Also, can I freeze a tomato, avo, ham and cheese sandwich?
you can DEFINITELY freeze ham and cheese -
I wouldn't freeze tomato .. as it changes and goes quite gross (texture) when you defrost it ... tomato really needs to be blanched (hot water) before frozen whole .. so I assume its the same cut up..
avo?? I froze for JAck .. although I thought it tasted a little more floury when I defrosted it .. so I only did that once .. then we used fresh stuff ...
I would definitely go ham .. ham and cheese - then maybe just experiment with a few different spreads to make different flavours??
hth??

:) My mum used to make sandwiches up on weekends and freeze them for us for school.
I have a big problem of not taking food to work, then buying crappy food on the way home from work :(

Tuna salad = Tuna, finely diced celery and red onion, mixed together with mayo.

I just read in my book, Baby and Toddler Meal Planner on page 30 under Avocado, she says "Do not freeze Avocado" She doesnt eloborate as to why...
And I just read on google that Avocados CAN be frozen but do not thaw well...
So who knows! Give it a try I guess...;)
ETA: I think if u add a bit of lemon juice to mashed avo it would thaw better

Roast chicken sandwiches freeze well.
dd has them for her school lunches and they'll keep fresh in the freezer for about a month.
No need to defrost as by the time lunch time comes along they have thawed nicely.

Thats pretty good My IGA has cooked chicken on sale for real cheap during certain times.I should buy some chicken & some good buns, add mayo & freeze them for his school.Iam looking for easy things for his lunch for the next few weeks.Ive found 3 dollar fruit cakes in black & gold from the bakery section, I cut it into 6 pieces & froze them in sandwich bags.I heard Pizza (take-out kind) freezes well. Iam buying a Pizza & freezing the peices for his lunch as well.Yes not very healthy, but I can make up for it later when I have the money/time.

I used to freeze sandwhiches for my ex and I do it for my son now.
I've done all sorts of cold meats with relishes/sauces/chutney/pickles, cheese, carrot, mashed egg, spreads.
Ive found that the main things that do not freeze well are any salad veges - lettuce, cucmber, tomato etc.
Their water content is to high so they defrost really watery.
Also it is best to use good quality bread - like helgas etc.
White bread can go soggy when it defrosts regardless of what is in it.
