Hello, my DH is in the Army and we are in Sydney! We have two beautiful children, Grace and Thomas, with limited family support, but we manage! DH was going to get out but is thinking he may stay in for a while now...
colourful sunshine - glad to hear that you are liking Brissy. Really hope we get that location.
Hi  my DH is in the Raaf, we are currently located in Adelaide, although he is away on deployment for 6 months.
Doesn't look like there are too many other Raaf spouses around the boards:no:
How do y'all enjoy life as a military wife?

My hubby is navy, (has been forever!!) actually got his 20 year clasp this week...I don't live in Sydney though, we are in the Hunter Valley and DH is MWD(U) in Sydney when not at sea (he's on HMAS Melbourne), then home on weekends.
Due to be made up at beginning of next year, so waiting to hear wether we are likely to be doing this till end of next year, or heading to VIC instead. I love not knowing what we are doing in 6 months, it's great!
Brisbane is great :) love it dont wanna move lol

Hi my DH is in the Navy. We are currently in Perth until August next year (unless we get another crash posting) My 2 young DS and I are home alone most of the time as DH is on a ship (cant spell the name of it:o). Can be a bit lonely as we have absolutely no family support as usual. Actually kind of used to being without family. Our friends have become family.

Hi everyone  . We are a RAAF family posted to Adelaide (from Brisbane) in Jan of this year.
Livsmummy - would love to catch up sometime after October (when I start maternity leave) if you are interested. It would be nice to know someone outside of work as we knew no-one when we moved here and have no family here either (that could be a good thing!).

Hi all
Well we are back from sunny Darwin now, thankfully Canberra has warmed up a bit for us! We are moving house next month, so that is exciting, but I look around and see just how much **** we have got now. A long way from just the bed, beanbag and tv we came here with. Of course that was pre kids! :D
yes mine is also at enoggera barracks :)
Hi girls,
Hope your all well. We find out about our posting location this week, probably tomorrow. So that will be exciting...as long as we get a good spot!

Hi everyone....just discovered this thread. My other half is in the RAAF, he's only been in for a year and a half. We've just moved back home to Brisbane after spending a year in Wagga Wagga for his training. Might be moving to Townsville next year though!

Hey anyone from Townsville got any advice on the best areas to live up there? We need to start looking for a house but are not sure what suburbs have the best DHA homes. Are there many new homes up there because the house we got in Brisbane is nearly brand new four bedrooms but Ive been told the houses in Townsville are pretty old and a lot of them are two storey. We have a 2 yr old and we''l have a new baby when we arrive up there so Im not keen on a two storey?
