this is the recipe I used from another person off a forum:

Golden Syrup Dumplings

dumplings
1 1/4 cups SR flour
30g butter
1/4 cup golden syrup
1/3 cup milk

Sauce
30g butter
1/2 cup golden syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups water

Sift flour into bowl, rub in butter, make a well in the centre. In a separate bowl, combine syrup and milk. Pour into well, stir, bringing flour in from the sides. Form mixture into ball, about the size of a golf ball. Handle the mixture as little and as gently as possible. Place all sauce ingredients into a large saucepan. Heat until butter has melted and sugar has dissolved. Drop dumplings into simmering sauce. Cook, covered for 20 minutes. Do not remove the lid!!!
