tax and baby bonus

Was just wondering if you pay tax on the baby bonus received from the goverment. I only worked part time for 2 months last year earning around $5,000. However i won't be paying tax because the first $7,000 (estimate) is tax free. But i received the $4,000 baby bonus bringing it up to $9,000. Will i be paying tax or is the baby bonus tax free?

i earnt about $5000 for the year - i haven't received my group cert yet.....but are you saying that the tax i paid, i should effectively get back???
