..coz we have one sick bub here Grrrrrr! he's been up every hour aaaaaaaaaallll night and he hasn't even napped since about 7.30am
So all I have is whinging in my ear and he wants nothing! Wont be boobied, wont stop fidgeting, wont go to his cot, wont go to my bed, wont stay in my arms :banghead:

It's going to be a looooooooooooong day :(

Mez, you know what I read the other day. Bubs who wake often during the night will be more brainy  Because they have more blood supply and oxygen or something, in their brains....

Jack, Noah and James need to dumb it down a bit then eh??

Yay a new thread...good on you Nat... the title fits in very well with this bunch of munchkins!

Oh... not another grumpy fussy (maybe sick) bub. Tell that James of yours to sort himself out and when he's ready to let you know what's wrong with him you'll listen :D

Jack, Noah and James need to dumb it down a bit then eh??

Haven't you forgotten one??? I'll give you a clue... he's very clever, very cute, very smart, gets himself up to mischief... and his middle name is the Pawn Stars first name

Nathan is at work today... I'm trying to keep myself sane :D

Rylan  I thought he was doing better :( Oh, yes I did remember him though :D

I should be looking at figuring out MSN right now! I'm actually looking at making my own sling so I can carry my little porker around without hurting myself!
I was looking at getting a Ergo but they're $150 atleast and I doubt I'll use it that much, just waiting for a second hand one to come along.
James is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyy yyyyyyyyy asleep now. I was thinking about ringing Mel but everytime I do the little monster hears me talking and wants in on the deal  <<(Yes, Jess i've seen, it's back ;-) )

Oh and we got the trike! David said buy it ($125 from Uncle Petes toys) I'll post a pic

Wondermum
07-07-2007, 12:09
Well 'better' in the respect that I'm not getting up and down :D.... instead lifting the lump to the left then to the right (@)v(@) while he hogs our bed

So you're going to get a little creative and sew your own sling huh...good luck... don't think I'd be any good at that... I'll stick to my cake creations LOL

:yelclap: WooHoo on snapping up James' trike!!!

'The Man' is back so we're off to have a life now LOL

and with that he's awake again... WOW a whole cycle

I'm might take him out in the car. Go to Maccas and get a Happy Meal (in exchange for James :p )

There you go Mez a fresh thread

Now tell us --- how did you sleep?

Welll where do I start....mmmm....

He wouldn't go to bed till 11.30pm again...then up at 3.30am...then stayed up till 7 am, so I was pulling my hair out so DH eventually sang him to sleep whilst I put earplugs in and a pillow over my head to drown his crying out...(note>>does NOT work...mmm)...

then up at 10am..(i was up at 10.30am) and now we have been struggling to get him back to sleep for a nap since 2pm..it's now 4......he is super tired, cranky, teething and a total monster...DH is again on singing duty...(He is now asleep...wow that was a struggle...)

..coz we have one sick bub here Grrrrrr! he's been up every hour aaaaaaaaaallll night and he hasn't even napped since about 7.30am

Jack, Noah and James need to dumb it down a bit then eh??

I am sorry to hear that James is not well, must suck big time...not looking forward to Jack getting ill...teeth are bad enough...

I think I am dumbing it down for him...we then meet in the middle...hahahahah.

I love the title by the way...I am taking some credit for fitting into all categories of it...I winge, I whine and I am becoming a closet insomniac...shhhhh, don't tell anyone...

Ps...I love James' trike by the way...we are also looking at getting one very similar for Jack for his birthday...great idea...

Hello over here chickadees:wave:
Thanks for the new thread Nat. And yes I too fit into all of the above mentioned thread title categories.
Love the pics of James as usual.
Jess I bet your glad Rylan's weight slowed down. Its gets hard carrying a lump around that fidgets and squirms.....lol
Mez I dont know how you do it lovey with nights like that. I whinge that mine are bad but in retrospect they arent that bad. I just get frustrated getting up and down like a yo-yo soo many times a night. Noah will have booby then go back off to sleep majority of the time.
Been out with the kidlets today to an indoor playcentre (remember Mez:p ) Not long got home.

Ok I will go and pm a mod and have the old thread closed and post a link to this one in the old one.

Oh cr@ppola...sorry about not making it...I feel a bit like I have luggage under my eyes today...hahaha...I suppose you get use to anything...even the bad nights...At least I had Mike here to help last night otherwise I may have been going more insane than I feel... Just the last few days Jack has decided that Day naps are not necessary but is soooo tired at the same time...I was about ready to take him for a drive as that seems to work at last resort most times...little :devil6:

Ok, so that's my whinge for the day...(well, technically only part of the whinge as I am pretty sure I will be back to add more to it...hehehe...so stay tuned...!!!) i know i babble when overtired...

Ripley sleeps all night and 2 or 3 naps during the day. Jess, he's probably only about 8.5kgs, he was 8kgs a few weeks ago. He is burning all the food up crawling and walking with his walking pushcart thing.

Hi all

Sorry have only skimmed. It's my grandma's funeral today and I'm feeling quite low. :gloomy:

My mum and sister had 2nd row seats to the Wimbledon's men's final so I'm trying to spot them in the crowd. Thought it would be easy with them in the second row and my sis says she's wearing turqoise so hopefully spot her soon. My mum says it's her "day off" this week as the funeral is Monday and then clearing out of my grandma's room at the home on Tuesday :crying:

On a funny note, Jess has started a " I want to wear ALL purple" phase which hopefully won't last long. And Alex is getting at least 2 teeth if not 4. Just dosed him with panadol and teething gel and hopefully he's off to sleep.
Also glad to hear I'm not mad when I couldn't find the rolling eyes icon. I was sure there used to be one. And I went to see Burt Bacharach on Friday, solo (night out all by myself woo hoo) which was fantastic

Anyway, probably be back later

Hi guys

I've just posted this somewhere else but if you can help, that would be great.

"I'm almost tearing my hair out :banghead: trying to find a child's wooden bookcase for my son - just something simple but maybe painted with sail boats or something. And also a little wooden chair which I can get personalised with his name, like my daughter's (which was a present from the US).

Any suggestions for websites or shops in the Brisbane area and surrounds (upto 50k) will be gratefully received. I've looked at over 50 sites and can't find anything like this, I thought it would be simple.

Thanks in advance."

I have come to a conclusion... I'm not whining enough :p So here goes!

I haven't been getting much of a break lately as Rylan has been so clingy and whingy - teething is making him a very teste little thing! I need to go get some other form of pain relief but it's miserable and raining here and I can't be bothered going anywhere today! He hasn't been eating much in the way of solids either but has been doing a great job of draining my (@)V(@) He was a real fuss pot last night too - so not much sleep here! He woke at one stage screaming his head off like I haven't heard before... usually he's straight on the boob but he just wanted to make a noise for a short while instead? He has a horrid rash on his bot bot, thighs and cheeks - which I think is related to a cow's milk allergy as the last time I gave him cows milk in his cereal same thing happened.

O.K thanks for reading whinge session is over for now :D

Oh dear its all just fun and games this whole baby business isnt it:rolleyes:
Gail (((((hugs))))) to you again hun. What a sad day isnt it! Dont you just love independant little people. I have the same kind of issue with Callan when it comes to getting dressed. He has to choose EVERYTHING from undies, clothes to what shoes and socks:banghead: . Im sure the purple phase will pass soon enough. As for the bookcase I have seen similar kinds of things in Kmart. Do you have a Kmart near you. I think the ones I have seen are just simple white wooden ones which you could get a stencil paint the boats on yourself.
Jess do you think if those of us that are having a cr@ppy time sleep wise with our bubbas all have a really big whinge that they just might take heed and start sleeping properly for us or is it just wishful thinking on my part????:hugs: hun it can only get better.
Ive been using the Hylands teething tablets for Noah and they seem to work for him. They are quite hard to come by though. I found at a few chemists if they dont have it in stock they can order it in for you.

Well that is what I am resorting to today...he cries then I go in every 5 mins and lay him back down from his standing/screaming/jumping position...he is now slowly calming down, but right now he is not my favourite person...:gloomy:

OMG...there is silence coming from his bedroom...not sure what that means..I spoke too soon...he is yelling out now..just quieter..

Same...he is having the biggest tanty I have ever seen....

He has been fed/ changed and burped...the only thing wrong is he is over tired and a cranky little so and so...you'd think his throat would be sore from screaming so much...I would hate to think what the neighbours are thinking...cause there's no way you couldn't hear him...

Do you have these nap time struggles regularly or is today just a one off?

Just for the last week all sleep seems to be a struggle...(he has his top left tooth coming through...grrrr)

I just gave in and gave him more milk and he is now out cold...but still sort of sobbing in his sleep...really takes it out of them when they just a tanty for sure.

He also has decided that 1 nap a day is it...so fights it when he is tired..before the tanty fest, he was sitting down listening to music and nearly nodding off...so he was definately ready for bed...

anyway I should at least have 1 hr break now...before he's up again...

How did you go Mez? I often have this and I just give up on James and let him come out and whinge on the floor out here :(
He's just had both top teeth through. The first one was over a week ago and the other just came through yesterday - He's been whingey the whole time, by far the most irritating of the cries :o
Fingers crossed that Jack gets over whatever it is bothering him and doesn't drag it out forever :fingerscrossed:
Fingers crossed one of us gets a sleepthrough :wizard:

Well after Jacks 3hr nap, he then proceeded to go back to bed at 9pm....(I was expecting a midnight bed time...) and is still asleep at the moment (11pm)...

I am hoping that tomorrow won't be such a struggle..but then again, I can only hope..:D

Congratulations to Rylan...that's great news...That is how Jack started 2 weeks ago and now he pretty much walks everywhere that he previously crawled...till he loses his balance then his off on all fours till he finds something to climb and then off walking again...makes it easier to put him down now as he just stands there...

oh well, going to try for some sleep before he wakes again...night all...

:yelclap: Congrats to Rylan, James and Jack!!!

Well, Alex just sat by himself WITHOUT FALLING OVER AT THE END!!! and he is busy pulling himself up on everything as you can see on my new avatar. He's also cutting 4 teeth.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the afternoon nap struggle. Alex usually has a nap straight after breakfast which is usually no problem. (Yesterday I had to wake him from it to go out and he just woke up, looked at me and smiled - no tears :smiliedance: ) but the after lunch time is a real struggle sometimes. He's soooo tired but just won't settle - I leave him or cuddle him and do everything and usually after an hour I just get him out and he plays in the lounge or else we end up with the few minutes of screaming which somehow leads to him going to sleep dead to the world  don't konw how that works but it does. At the moment most nap times come with teething gel and panadol as standard due to the teeth. Better go, just off to the gym and have to go and wake him. Hate doing it but he usually just smiles when I wake him :fingerscrossed: (Edit - he's just started crying so no need to wake him. See you later)

Thanks Nat! He's done it :yelclap: all is quiet now. It took him about 20mins (I went in 3x). It is a little heartbreaking for me but I guess it will become easier. I remember having to do it with Hayden - I think he was somewhere around 9-12mths. I know I will feel better knowing he is able to settle himself without much hassle when I'm not around.

and Mez, yes the tele is a great baby sitter LOL I just now had James watching ABC :-)

How do you ladies get your kids to watch TV? Logan completely ignores it, unless he is sitting on my lap right in front of it... he can be sitting right in front of it on his own though and not even ackowledge it

jack only seems to be mesmerised by Sesame street at the moment...not much else gets his attention...so I have about 5 shows taped on my DVD recorder...just for the odd 20 mins I need to think..hahahaha (I would have to play it all day long for that to happen...)

Ive been using the Hylands teething tablets for Noah and they seem to work for him. They are quite hard to come by though. I found at a few chemists if they dont have it in stock they can order it in for you.

Thanks for that Mel - I was able to get some today. I have given Rylan some already - seems to like them lol they dissolve fairly quickly which is great

Jack did well with his 3hr nap the other day Mez! Shame they can't keep the routine going hehehe. Rylan love sesame street too - I think his favorite is Elmo!

Oh good Jess, hopefully he'll catch on quick. It wont take him long! I don't want to jinx myself but I think I have taught James not to bite :fingerscrossed: It's taken two days though (and two very, very sore nipples. One bled!

I done the same with his night nap last night and he settled himself in half the time (10 mins). I'm finding now if I feed him (last feed before bed) he will just fuss and carry on pulling on and off etc.. so I think it is now best that he has his last feed and settles himself. I am using the porta cot in our room - I did the same for Hayden. They don't tend to hurt themselves if the decided to throw a tanty in there.

I hear you on the biting - Rylan also bites me and it's not just my nipples! He bites my legs, shoulder/ arm whatever is close to his mouth at the time he wants to sink his fangs in to relief his teething frustrations I guess?! I am very wary now - always on edge when he is showing signs of grizzles.

OK I'm going to be very quiet for you :D

Well, I"m in shock as daycare said that they can take Alex from next Thursday, just one day a week so I can start studying again. Thing is I already had a mummies coffee morning organised so I'll be going with no children. I might leave studying until the following week as I'll make the first day a short one. Knowing me I'll be racing to go back and pick him up.

Also had his first swimming lesson today. Unfortunately when I was getting him changed he threw himself back and really cracked his head against the wall but luckily just cried/screamed straight away (as did I) and settled after a few minutes. Then we had a one on one lesson as no-one else showed up and he loved it. We even put him underwater quickly twice and he was fine. The teacher was telling me how he automatically closes his eyes just before he goes in and he did!!! :smiliedance:

As for injuries, we were all playing tickle on teh sofa this morning and Jess accidentally whacked my nose with her head - OUCH!! It's still throbbing a bit now.

Think that's all for now. OFf for a lie down as the kids are both in their rooms and it's all quiet!!

Well, last night was cool, at around 6, jack decided to take me for a walk, up the hallway towards the bathroom, while saying....."have bath?"...

it was soooo cute and amazing...he was repeating the same thing to me a few days ago, but this time he did it all by himself while dragging me in the direction he obviously wanted to go...so a bath we had and he was asleep by 6.45pm...!! happy dance over here...

Feeds @ 8.30, 11.30, 3.30 & 6.30...awake by 8.30am....with a super duperly large dirty nappy...but he was happily playing in his cot with the occational yell to get my attention...

Must go shopping today...got my Ladybugz Trolley cover on Tuesday so am going to give it a go...they look awesome and the lady who makes and sells them is the nicest person ever...she is sending me another one for free which is unheard of in the customer service world that I have come to know...(she sells them on Ebay for $35 with free postage..)

Oooh what is her shop name? When I was looking on ebay for them they were all up well over $50 - $100. Not that its much use me getting one now with 2 kids
I put Logan in a trolley the other day during the toy sale and he actually didnt chew on anything so I was pretty happy I could start using them lol.

I have pm'd you the details/website...

Hey mummies :)

Well the tablets the doc gave me, seem to have mostly done the trick, the pain from the gastritis is almost gone.

Well the big news around here is lol, Marie has finally cut her first tooth. It's a sharp little thing, been using bonjela to help sooth her, seems to help.

Wow, Mez...Jack is simply amazing, and so gorgeous.

Arggh...thought i'd have sometime to catchup...but seems I have a little catnapper at the moment.

BBL hopefully.

yeah for Marie's toothy peg!!! and I am glad your tablets are working...

Well, tonight Jack grabbed hold of his fathers hand and dragged him down the hallway saying "Have Bath?" again...so I now have a witness that it wasn't just a one off event...pretty neat!!!

I used my Ladybugz trolley cover today and it worked a treat...looked heaps more comfy and very cute too...Jack seemed to enjoy it more than sitting in the normal seat and he didn't lose all his biccy today...although he had fun mashing it into the cover...glad they wash easy...!!:D

Mez! Why did you bother with the trolley cover I'll never know.... you should get Jack to push the trolley

Poor David! I showed him the video of Jack walking and he goes "What's wrong with our James!".... LOL

I'll tell you whats wrong with him  He wakes up more than all our babies combined atm :banghead:
We're co-sleeping mostly, it makes it easier on me. I hope even if it's habit forming that he should be out of our bed by the heat of summer on account of it being uncomfortable. David and I will oust him! Make it so uncomfortable that he'll have no choice but to migrate to his own cot LOL Like a real mafia 'shake down' haha We'll run him out of town/bed :D

Kristy, way to go in Marie's tooty! I got SM33 Gel for James. It has novacaine and what not. I think it more hard-core (I use it recreationally LOL )

LMAO...I have tears in my eye's...I love reading your posts...you really should take up writing you know...the recreational use got me...where do I sign up for a subscription???

Does David want to trade babies??? You guys can chase jack around and teach him to push trolleys for me and I will do the night shift with spunky little James...(mmm, well, I may fall asleep while getting up to him, I haven't dropped jack yet, so you can trust me...not sure how i manage to get him out of his cot some nights though...but when I wake up in the recliner, the lights are on and the baby is just dandy...asleep and usually snoring which is why I probably wake up...hahahahaha...)

So what else has everyone been up to? anything exciting? anyone up tha duff yet??? by the way, when does "Knocked up" start at the movies? It looks funny and I want to go see it...here's hoping they run it at babe in arms sessions....:fingerscrossed:

Its already started mez. Its one movie that I would love to go and see to. I checked on the Greater Union site this arvo and it doesnt look like its going to be a babes in arms session. Ive been thinking of getting a trolley cover too. I heard the other day that they are selling them in Spotlight now too. I loved the video of the amazing Jack walking too. Just dont bring him here giving my son any ideas. The crawling really fast around the house is more then enough for me right now.

Dont worry about it being habit forming Nat. I do anything for a bit of decent sleep, well almost anything. I try really really hard to steer clear of the tontine therapy as much as possible. You had better tell David you DONT want James to walk yet as he will then be able to follow you around quicker and whinging at your heels....lol

Ouch on your poor nose Gail. Hehehe dont you love the charm that the bubba boys exude when out and about. Noah is so bad at it. Was at the supermarket today and he sat in his pram waving to every single person that would look in his direction. Too cute!

Hope everyone else is doing well and there bubbas are behaving, sleeping and being adorable for all.

I tell you what he is getting so clever it is scaring me. He is standing on his own heaps now, waves and is saying what sounds like Hello, will eat just about anything I offer him (so long as its from my plate..lol)
He is constantly getting into mischief such as pulling all my cd's and dvd's out of the stand. Oh and the little bugger gave me a heartattack last night. he was over near Callans toybox and there is a little plastic chair next to it. The little devil called out and we found him sitting on top of the toybox after using the chair to climb up:eek:

Thanks Mez :-D Levity is my middle name! ... poor James :o
Though seriously, I think you are operating on lack of sleep *nods head knowingly*

Well I had a big, exhausting weekend. Mostly visiting my Mums (it saps the energy ...or rather she saps the life-blood out of me nag, nag, nag  ) I need to dab a bit of that teething gel in my ears Mez, just to take the edge off her irritating yabbering! --- "Where's your jumper, you look skinny, you should've had braces to fix your crooked teeth, put socks on the boy".... AAAAARRRRRRGGHHHH! I want to peel the skin off my head every "time" she tries to talk to me!!! :banghead:

On a not so light note though... I'm a bad mother :( James in the last few days has had so many bumps and bruises. Fingers caught in the draw, bumped his head and it came out with a big 'egg'.
Tell me that's just what happens when they get on the move!

Oh! How's this for Dr **** knuckle !! I took James to the Dr today as his cough has progressed from a dry cough to a chesty-phlegmy cough. Dr prescribed him some 'just-in-case' antibiotics, penicilin which I'm allergic to. It's bad enough that he should be so eager to prescibe antibiotics to a baby but he might be allergic to penicilin too!
Aaaaaaanyway.. I tell him I don't want to give him antibiotics if it's at all avoidable, I also mention that I'm still breastfeeding. He looks suprised and asks me how old James is. I tell him "nine months" and quick as a flash he withdraws the script off the table and scrunches it up declaring "Oh, I'll write you a different script. I've written a dose for a two year old here"... WTF?!?!?!
If that's not bad enough the Dr's name is Omar Shariff LMAO Maybe he thinks he's Dr Zhivago or something LOL More likely still he's a pretend Dr! HAHAHA!

*sigh* hehehe... I think I better change Dr's :-P

Yep, Mel! Looks like you have a climber! Lets hope the boy has the agility to follow his inclination. Maybe he'll bump his head and it'll knock some sleep into him (don't bother james' 'egg' never improved his bedtime habits. Atleast he doesn't snore I s'pose)

Gail, I often still feel 'stuck in Jan' and James was a sicky boy too. I tell you, I'm practically traumatised from having anymore kids after James but then I'm soft :-( everything bothers me- changing nappies 3 times an hour, marathon breastfeeds that run into each other all day long, rocking him to sleep, backache, up at night, headache, bocked ducts, booby ache, having sick up all over everything all the time!!! holding up his head for him, constantly washing the fluffy semi-dried sick out of his clenched little newborn fists, trying to cut his tiny fingernails (but cutting his fingers), tension, scheduling tummy-time through a screaming session, trying to cook dinner and simultaneously settle him (as though I;m a single parent grrrrr! ) sitting up against explosive scar pain ..(Oh gawd! I sound like my Mum now double-aaaarrrrghh!!! )
Gail I bet you thinking about that ligation now eh?!

Okay, I'm going to bed hopefully for a while without getting disturbed!

He came into the office while I was hubbing and got hold a pencil then left...I didn't think much of it as he was just chewing it, untill I heard the strangest noise...I went out to find him drawing big circles on the hallway wall!!!!!! so I exclaimed and he took off...practically running as fast as his little legs would go, waving the pencil around like a trophy...all the way out to the lounge room and then headed for the front door...who knows where he thought he was going...I was nearly wetting myself with laughter..(that will teach his father to show him how to draw "pictures" on the weekend) I laughed so hard and had tears running down my face..poor baby and DH thought I had lost it..

Hi

Just a quickie everyone. This is a copy and paste of one I just put under the Contraception thread.

Hi

I went to my OB yesterday for a pap scan and he tested out about fitting my mirena using a thin metal rod to test that the path is clear, so to speak. It turns out my uterus bends backwards so there is a big corner to go around, if that makes sense. It hurt a lot when he was testing and he said there was only an 80:20 chance of it going in properly because of this, and if that failed we would insert it with me under general anaesthetic. After a chat we decided to just go for me having it done under GA as there is more like a 99% chance of getting it in properly.

I was just wondering if anyone else had had it inserted this way? Is this usual? He didn't indicate that it was unusual and I've got the date set (my Wedding Anniversary) for 2 weeks time.

Hi Everyone

Yes it sounds like we're all getting to the big bumps, lumps and even more mess stage!! Just wait til they feed themselves yoghurt!! I haven't got that far yet but just call Alex Mr Vegemite after breakfast as he gets it EVERYWHERE. He also has a huge bump on his head which we don't know how he got but as he's pulling himself up on the furniture all the time, the bumps and cries are coming thick and fast.

As for the birthday party, I'll do the same as I've done for Jess so far, have a family BBQ. I put up balloons and get nice paper plates and a cake but it's more a family gathering than a kids party. I don't think I'll get away with that for Jess' 4th birthday which I think will be more like inviting all the kindy kids for a picnic and games.

Oh and sit down before you read this as you will be in shock  My Bodystep teacher who was about 5 months pregnant when I started going and was still going to classes bascially until bubba dropped, I've seen her at the gym with her 2.5 WEEK OLD baby, taking classes and next week ....

She's going to be teaching classes again 3 days a week!!!

And she has 2 boys before this little girl too.

I'm feeling very inadequate now (hangs head in shame). Not making the gym this week as yesterday had OB appt and Thursday is Alex's 1st day at daycare so am settling him in later than usual and have a coffee morning to go to with Bubhubbers :smiliedance:

Personally I think that's a bit soon to be going back no matter how fit you are.

Seriously. I went to the gym (body balance and body pump mostly) until the last few weeks of my pregnancy and I swam 1km in the last week to try and bring on labour (didn't work, heh). But I didn't go back until 3 months.

filmgirlgail
17-07-2007, 10:11
Yeah, I didn't go until about 5/6 months as I was waiting for Alex to sleep thru, which didn't happen so I just bit the bullet and started going. Now I do Body Balance (really funny male teacher - makes us laugh whilst we're doing down facing dog) and Body Step/Combat but Jess has just changed days at kindy so that will all change as classes at different times on different days.

Hello lovelies

Wow our babies are getting very clever now aren't they?! Climbing, standing, walking, talking and drawing too!!!

I have been busy organizing my return to the working world. Had an interview yesterday - should hear back from them in about a week - I'm fairly confident all went well *fingers crossed*

On the weekend we went out for a drive (Mt Sugarloaf) in the 4x4 and the thing decided it didn't want to start when we were ready to leave (which happened to be dinner time for all). We were the only ones there at the time so Nathan and myself got out and tried to push it back which was slightly uphill  go! Then we saw some car headlights coming up :yelclap: so when the car pulled into the car park next to us Nathan went over to ask if the guy could help us push the car back? The guy (moron) said 'Um I'm kinda busy' where has the good Samaritan's gone in people these days?!! He sat there and watched us try to move the car over and over ourselves then he took off in his pride and joy a 'V8 Holden SS Commodore' after about 5 mins. Luckily for us another car came up not long after (a family) and the guy was more than willing to help - we were extremely greatful! All we needed was just one other person to move it back ever so slightly so we could roll in down the hill.

Not much else to share at this stage. I'm pretty sure I have already updated you on Rylan's latest milestones - he loves walking next to us holding our hand. Also we have discovered he may have a milk allergy - so we have eliminated all dairy from his diet.

Take care all
~ Jess ~Xx

Oh wow what a nasty man! You can tell he obviously doesn't have kids (and don't think all that highly of Holden SSs, I drove hubbys for the first time yesterday which we bought a month ago, and I told him I never want to drive it again it was the most uncomfortable car ive ever driven)
GL with the job too, are you dreading or looking forward to your return to work? Personally I am really missing having that little bit of social life and independance right now.

Yeah, seemed like a real self absorbed pr!ck.

I am looking forward to going back to work for sure  It is a new career path for me so it is all very exciting! IKWYM too I am really missing the independence and social network (work wise) aside from the usual 'mummy stuff' 'mummy talk' etc.. I have spent the last 4 years with children and I am now looking forward to some adult stimulation and to have another purpose in my life. It's great as this position is very flexible and family friendly and it is part time so I will still be with the boys during the days mostly apart from the first 4 weeks (2 days pw) training.

Jess that sounds great. I have negotiated to stay off work until 2008, which is what I want to do at this stage - stay with Rip while he is still so little.

Hmm, a lone guy pulling up in a hotted up Commodore in a car park? I have a theory what he was up to lol. Bad karma for him anyways.

Cass I don't know about the drinking. I think Rip is drinking less from me nowadays but as he is bf I have no idea how much he is taking from me. The usual rule - if Logan is happy and healthy and wetting his pants then I guess it's fine. Does he drink water during the day?

Thanks! That is great you have been able to negotiate a little more time with Rip. I totally understand your reasons to stay home with Rip while he is little - I was the same and still am to some degree I guess. I only ever wanted to go back to work on the condition I found a job that was flexible and family friendly, as I don't have the 'family support' close by. They grow so fast too so it is a real privilege to be able to be with them when they are little!

That sounds great... what type/ field of job is it, if you dont mind me asking that is ;) I hear you on the mummy stuff, I feel like my brain has gone to mush already  I hate to think what it will be like after #3, lol.

He drinks a little water, but only a few sips really. I do add water into his night meals, plus I figure his fruit also has a lot of water in it already. He doesn't seem thirsty tho, otherwise I figure he would drink more water than what he does.

The field is Age Care / Community Care Cass. They are also willing to educate further with an RN scholarship at uni, specialised care or area's like OHS, Counciling, Hospitality ect.. I'm excited - I think it is an awesome opportunity! :)

Hi

Jess good luck with that

Well, after being told on Monday that there was no room in pre-school for Jess until September, I had a call yesterday from the daycare and they can fit her into preschool from next week if we change days as one little boy has gone there a bit early, so he is going back down to kindy for a while. I'm just preparing the list for Alex's first day at daycare tomorrow and I ironed (get the camera out :D ) all the names into his clothes last night. Jess is also moving up to the next music class this week too, so it's all change to the old routine.

I went upstairs yesterday as Alex was crying in his cot and he, for the first time, was standing up in his cot - so cute to see him standing up! Also Alex's fire engine toy box which my parents bought him for his birthday has arrived so I will build it this week as, if there are any pieces missing, etc, I need to sort that out.

Off to Alex's 2nd swim lesson today and Jess gets to play with her best friend in teh creche then we have toasted cheese sandwiches in teh cafe afterwards :D

Hi

Jess good luck with that

Well, after being told on Monday that there was no room in pre-school for Jess until September, I had a call yesterday from the daycare and they can fit her into preschool from next week if we change days as one little boy has gone there a bit early, so he is going back down to kindy for a while. I'm just preparing the list for Alex's first day at daycare tomorrow and I ironed (get the camera out ) all the names into his clothes last night.

Off to Alex's 2nd swim lesson today and Jess gets to play with her best friend in teh creche then we have toasted cheese sandwiches in teh cafe afterwards

Okay Gail! YOu don't have to SHOUT!!

How about your friend going back to work 2 1/2 weeks after having a baby WTH???!!! I go on another forum (vbac/c-section section hehehe 'section section' ) and a woman on there is booked in for a c/s a couple of weeks prior to her due date. However she wants a vbac so is hoping to go into labour before that! I say 'why does your Ob schedule a c/s so early?" She says "I want it that way, I'm going back to uni 3 days after that" WTFFF??? I can just see her there in class with catheter and saline drip. Good Gawd! It must be a pretty important subject eh?!

How cool is Alex standing in his cot! Crying "Mum Mum I'm stuck! I can't get down! " LMAO

Mez Well done on the page! Looks great

Jess I looked into a job today as party planner seling kids clothes. We'll see how it goes. There is a new website called carreer mums.

Where for art thou Mel?? Hope you slept sooooooo well last night that you are just too relaxed to get up out of bed.... unlikely

I have learned, yesterday, Do NOT hold your naked baby boy up in front of a chest of draws! I was holding James up while he played with the hi fi system and the little devil went and p!ssed all down the draws and it ran all inside! (sshhh don't tell David, he doesnt know - all his clothes got wee'd on LOL )

Still no sleep for me but it is much easier on me now that we are in the same bed.

Oh how cute is this-- at mothers group yesterday I look at James and he has his arm around one of the baby girls :D He was giving her a big wet sloppy baby kiss (you know how they do it, mouth gaping wide and dribbling everywhere)

Anyhoo, that it for me :-)........

I am sick. Really really sick. I dont know how mothers exist on broken sleep, crazy on the go babies/toddlers, do housework AND be sick like this. Im struggling and I feel so bad for J but I really feel like I want to die. I never get this sick so its new to me. DH cant even get time off to help me, and all the Dr says is 'rest rest rest'. He looked at me funny when I laughed hysterically when he said it.
Worse yet, Jett looks like he's getting it which will make his 3rd bout of sickness in 5 weeks :( He's been asleep since 12 and doesnt look like he's going to wake anytime soon.
I blame this god forsaken heck hole. Who can live in - degree weather for 4 months and NOT get sick. Im certainly not doing this next winter, Sydney here I come whether DH is ready or not.

I hope your all healthy and well and DONT get this crud.

Thanks Gail. Good luck with Alex's day care settling - hope he loves it!.... and Jess with her preschool too. Seems like it's all fallen into place for you. Yay for Alex standing in his cot too! They are all getting so clever!

LOL about James Christening his dad's clothes in the draw! I hope you have learned a valuable lesson now Nat - you can NEVER trust a boy with his pants down :p

I can tell that boy of yours is going to be a real charmer with the girls when he's older  look out!!! He has already started young! Very cute ;-p

Anna ((((HUGS)))) hope you are feeling better soon. It must be so terrible being pregnant and having a little bub to look after too. Are you dealing with morning sickness too? Poor thing!

Not much to report on here. Been out most of the arvo - went to take some baby toys and necessitates over to my sisters friend who is due to have a bub soon. I am clearing out most of Rylan's things. If/ when we have another one I will get what we need if I don't have it. I am keeping a hold of most of the bigger things just the smaller things like cocoon, slings, wraps, nappy bin, cot toys, play gym, spare pram etc... I had way too much anyway!

Take care lovelies and hope you all have a good night!

I'm all alone in the house:eek:

Just dropped Jess and Alex at daycare. I had tears welling but haven't cried yet. Very emotional. He was happy though and I just did it all quickly then gave him a big hug and left him playing with the toys. Will pick them up at 2ish today.

Off to a bubhub coffee morning which was already organised and then going to wander round the shops AS SLOWLY AS I WANT TO!!! Will start studying in a few weeks as 2 weeks today I have day surgery then we're on holiday to Norfolk Island the following week so will have these next 2 Thursdays as "days off" and start studying seriously after our holiday.

Morning all...

Have a lovely day Gail!!...

Well, sleep was a tad better last night in that I got some...heheheheh...

Not much else here...Jack is starting to walk faster...generally when he's being chased, it looks soooo funny...(his form of running) and he squeals till you catch him...very cute...

He also loves to yell and squeal when we go out in public...anyone else have a noisy baby? I have no idea how to stop him...so I tend to ignore it..as he is doing it in a very happy way...

Last night he got "sin binned" 2 times...little monkey kept trying to pull the power cords out of the wall...(who puts sockets on baby levels???) so off to his room/cot for some time out...you'd have thought we had done something worse the way he chucked a tanty...oh well, better get ready for more of it as he is way too cheeky...

Morning.
I feel a teeny bit better today. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end.

Jess, yep it is hard! If it wasnt for our fertility issues I would NOT have had them this close together and cannot believe there are woman crazy enough to voluntarily plan it this way. I kind of expected it to be a bit tiring but I also didnt expect my pregnancy to be worse than last time. I do not make a good pregnant woman which is why this is our last baby f-o-r-e-v-e-r! I was dealing with m/s but thank god its finished up pretty much, I get the occasional gag (esp being sick) but nothing like the first 12wks.

Gail - enjoy your time alone! Ive been struggling to actually make the decision to put Jett in a few hours of occasional care run by the Army, for some reason I just cant make the phone call to book him in even though I know he will love it and I desperately need it. I bet Alex and Jess are having a ball!

Mez - aw thanks for thinking my belly is cool. Im already sick of it lol Not quite a nice preggie belly but getting there. How cute about J's running! I wish Jett would hurry up and walk, he hates being confined to anything (highchair, carseat, pram) but cant understand that he cant crawl everywhere. Did you notice any signs that clued you in he was about to start walking?

Woohoo 1 week and 1 day until my next scan and a peek at what flavour we are having. Im hoping this baby is as much as flasher as Jett was in utero (and would be out of the womb if I let him). Ive taken note of your story Nat and will be even more vigilant about no-nappy time  Jett is getting more adventurous about standing and taking a tiny step between things but nothing substantial. He has started crab crawling forward on flat feet and hands which is weird - its like he's trying to stand but cant so he crawls along like that lol

Hi

Anna - glad you're feeling better. Sounds like me. I had no ms with Jess but about 15 weeks of it with Alex!

Well Alex and Jess had a good time at daycare but I just had one of those days. You know when lots of stupid little things happen? All I wanted was to go to the city and wander around the large bookshops, have a nice lunch and go back to pick up the kids.

But 2 large carparks I went to, which were so full people were parking on the ramps, still let me in to drive around for 10 mins and discover there were NO parking spaces - I mean, why don't they just say they're full like the next one did. So I ended up in a part of town I hadn't been to before which was quite nice but all teh shops were out of my league. Then lots of silly things happend, like I tripped up the stairs (which always makes me feel so stupid), then just as I'm driving to pick up the kids, I get a call from daycare (never had one in 2 years of Jess being there) to say Alex is really tired and upset and can they give him his milk early, so I'm feeling :crying: and when I get there he's as happy as Larry!!

On a good note they had completely packed his bag, and I noticed he was smelly (they'd just done a smelly one on him too) and they changed him. Don't know what's up there, yesterday he did a record 4 dirty nappies and not altogether, all about 2 hours apart WTF??? And I had a nice morning tea with 2 bubhub mummies.

Oh my God, I've had a shocker today. First the three of us went out for breakfast which we tend to do Thursdays. The place was understaffed so it took ages and poor Rip had to wait for his milk and water for his weet bix. Then I went on to the movies and the last two times he has gone straight to sleep for the whole movie, but today he was HYPERACTIVE and grizzly and I ended up having to push the freakin pram up and down the back of the theatre until he eventually fell asleep after an HOUR! Grrr, then he woke up after half an hour wtf! Then we went to Target and I am never going during toy sale time again, it was horrible! Then we came home and he went in his cot and refused to sleep. So I gave up and got him up and took him to buy DH some new ugg boots which were meant to be a lovely surprise tonight. And there were roadworks! And the place had moved! So I drove on further to the new place and just threw the old boot at the poor guy and said "ugh, new ones please!" and they were out of that size completely (and only that size of course). So I drove home defeated utterly and gave Ripley some solids and then put him in bed again, and he screamed the house down.

Omg I think he went to sleep at last...

Their cheeky little personalities are emerging now :D last night Nathan had finished a can of coke and left it on the coffee table - Rylan got a hold of it and did not want to give it up lol. We tried taking it off him a few times and he pulled the biggest drop lip ever! We let him have it for a while and he was so chuffed lol. He ended up walking around holding it - taking on average 4 steps at a time!!!

He was furniture cruising and standing alone unassisted for quite a while, then my brother asked me one day if he had taken any steps and I pipe up with "no, nothing yet" then what does the little devil do? takes 4 steps to me!!! made a complete lier out of me...from what I gather they just "do it" and then there is no turning back...he just gets steadier and walks more every day.

Mia and Gail sounds like you more or less had pretty much the same cr@p day :( I hate it when you have your mind set on going out, having a good time and then one thing after another and your day is ruined. Especially Gail, when you get that precious little time away from both kids. All you want to do is go to bed!

James isn't walking yet, just pulling himself up on everything (mostly the back of my knees while I'm cooking) and he clicks his tongue now when I do it.

Co-sleeping full time now (that's a far cry from letting him CIO eh?!) I figured he has his whole entire life to sleep indepenantly of us so I need to take this chance while we have it. Also (God forbid) what if I suffered secondary infertiliy and lost the chance forever!

Our babies are too cheeky! I'd love to see them all together. How cool! I wonder how they'd interact. (In the absense of the twins, James is usually the only boy at Mothers Group)

How freaky is that killer bactrial infection in Perth! It's taken the lives of 3 (?) children already :crying: That kind of stuff freaks me out:no:

Hi all:wave:
Im sorry but i am way too lazy for personals at the moment but I have been reading about all of your goings on.
The kids are nearly all better now apart from Emily and her persistant cough and Callans continuous snotty nose....ahhhh the joys I say:rolleyes:
I spent half the day at the hospital with my mum yesterday. She has the flu really bad and I was worried that she was getting pneumonia plus she was woken at 4am with what she described as a bang in the back of her head with a nauseas, giddy feeling. I was worried she might of had the symptoms of a TIA (trans ischaemic attack). They gave her a bag of fluid IV and a few other drugs and sent her on her way. She is a bit better today thank goodness.
My little man is becoming cleverer everyday. He now is saying all gone and holding his hands outstretched when his meal is gone, he waves and says ta-ta to people, the cheeky little bugger wont say mum just blow a raspberry in my direction and laugh. Him and Callan are starting to 'play' together now. Callan has a little ride on car thing and Noah stands at the back while Callan sits on it with his feet up being pushed around the house. It is sooo cute even when Noah gets cranky and cries because the car cant go any further as its run into a wall.
The sleep thing still isnt great but we are just soldiering on as I know it wont be like this forever.

Take care and hugs to your gorgeous bubbas. xx

I think sometimes it's best to block out everyone else's opinions 'the rights and wrongs' of parenting and just do what works best for you and your baby. The only people you need to please is your baby and yourself!

and as for that killer bug going around in Perth OMGoodness :( I hope they find out what is going on and no other children are affected!

I spent half the day at the hospital with my mum yesterday.

Mel I hope your mum is doing better. That would have been scary. Lots of get well wishes her way :wizard:

Our babies are getting very cleaver aren't they. It is really cute to see them interacting and playing with their siblings too. Rylan is always interested in what Hayden is up to and is always copying his silly noises :hair: hahahaha

Hope you all enjoy the weekend!

Hi Everyone

:hugs: to the sleep deprived - it's only 4 weeks since I left that gang.

OK I admit I'm sad, but I've never queued up for anything else before. I preordered my Potter book, got it within 15 mins of the store opening at 9:15 and somehow, the kids were so good, I finished it at 12:30 this morning!!! So if you want to know any details, just PM me.

And we've just seen DH's family friend who's a reverand to organise Alex's christening for October and my brother, who is godfather, is coming over :smiliedance: :smiliedance: I'm so happy we've finally organised a date, now I just need to organise his birthday party, then I'll start on the christening. Me too!!! Rylan has just cut his 5th tooth it is the top right. The other side looks like it's not too far behind either.

Well Rylan has been WALKING everywhere tonight :D He is so proud of himself as we all are too! He is yet to master pulling himself up unassisted though. If he losses his balance he will go back to base (coffee table/ chair etc) and pull himself to his feet to toddle off again - it's too cute! I am so proud and amazed as Hayden was 14mths when he started his first steps. Well Nathan was right when he said Rylan would walk by 10mths :yelclap: Mez.... Jack needs to hold Rylan's hand and teach him to run hehehehe

Jess ~ Jack hasn't worked out how to stand up by himself yet without using a wall/curtain/bench/table/trouser leg etc..., it won't be long now...as it doesn't take much for him to be upright...just needs more confidence that he can do it...so far he kneels then "takes a knee" up, but overbalances before standing without support.

We had a great day today, David 'wagged' work and we went to the Blue Mountains, Was great and being the weekend there was no one about. I'll post some pics soon.

Bell's Line of road is insane though!! It's just too dodgey a road to be getting up to speeds of 100km's. I gave it a go but there was no one about so I really just cruised on 70-80. 100 is fine for a free way but Bell's Line of road is just a windy road with way to many sharp, blind corners to be exceeding 80!
Even 80 is too fast to appreciate all the road side memorials :(

Did anyone see the Today Tonight report about Adriana xenides?? I missed it.

As for us: well, Jack managed to pinch his fingers in the front door today (he loves closing doors!!!) and grazed 1 finger (skin off and blood everywhere) and the other looks like it has a bit of a blood blister...when and if he lets us look at it...

and today for the first time he stood himself up unassisted twice, then took off (as apposed to finding something/someone to pull himself upright with...which is pretty neat!!!

but due to teeth and sore fingers (which he sticks in his mouth due to above mentioned teeth then cry's more cause it all hurts) i do not envision a dream filled night for me...

Nats - looks like you had a great day. Reminds me of when I lived in Sydney as a teenager with my parents and we used to go there (of course, being a teenager, I sat in the back of the car with my walkman on reading a book :D ) but I loved the scenery when we got there.

Well done Wondermum on going to the next level. :fingerscrossed: it all works out

Well, the last 2 nights Alex has woken himself up coughing for the first few hours, so last night we were in the spare room together until about 2am, then I popped him back in his cot and he slept til 7. He seems to be coughing but also has a windy bottom which is making him strain, but it's all wind. I think it might be the fish he had on Sunday.

And this morning, for the first time since he started eating properly, he REFUSED FOOD!!! Usually he just opens his mouth and I have to make sure he only has a set amount otherwise he'd be like a goldfish and eat until he pops or :barf: . But this morning he refused his banana and played with his toast. Hopefully just a one off.

Oh and I bought some great colourful printer paper and did Alex's birthday invitations happybirthday . Giong to send them off when we go to the shops today. Just doing tea and cake at our house on his birthday, which is a Sunday, so people can just come by to say Happy Birthday and have some snacks and cake.

He's taken about 2 or 3 independent steps each time, so exciting! He usually lets go of furniture or myself and steps a few times then sits down (not falls, just sits down pleased as punch lol) Bring on the walking! I noticed he was standing on his own alot yesterday morning just waving and clapping and dancing so I figured why not try to get a few steps out of him? And whaddya know - he CAN do it.

Mez that video is just sooooooooooo cute! Jack is just gorgeous! I love his wobbling walk, Jett does the same thing and I was worried it was his feet but I can see its normal.

Great pics Nat!

Gail - ah birthday invites! Is it that time already? I have ours ready and waiting to go.

yeah for Jett!!!... That's pretty much what I did with Jack, stood him out from me to see if he would come and he did...!!!!

yep, the wobbly walk is normal...he gets steadier during the day, but a bit "drunk" walking when tired...some days are better than others...although he is teething at the moment and that seems to chuck his balance off a lot...

WOw Congrats Jess!

Here we are today at the mts

Love the pics Nat - thanks for sharing! You are looking really good btw ;-)

Mez I hope Jack's fingers aren't too sore now :hugs: for him. Hope they heal fast! Yay for mastering the standing up unassisted too! I Luuuuurve the video of yourself and Jack! You are both gorgeous! I sat and watched it with a HUGE SMILE on my dial :D

Gail I hope Alex is o.k. maybe be teeth related? :fingerscrossed:

WE HAVE STEPS!

WooHoo another little munchkin on his feet :smiliedance:

Thanks for the job congrats girls! I took Rylan to the CHN this morning and he is going great guns. his weight gain has slowed right down now - he is 9.6kg

Mez *yawn, yawn* Show me some footage of him sleeping through and I'll be amazed!

Seriously I had to share that one with Mothers' Group. I'll let you know what reactions I get. That is truley amazing! I noticed that YOU have those grip sole-socks, must've been a good investment, all the time you've been teaching Jack to walk LMAO :D likewise if he's been teaching you

Jess thanks for that! How's Rylans testes btw? Nothing to worry about i hope. He's really slowed down in weight! Prably coz he is on the move. James is lazy, hw weighs over 11kg. I'll get him weighed and let you all know.

Gail How's Alex today?

Anna Conrats on the steps. How you pg going?

Mel I've got another sympathy headach for you this morning. I don't know if it;s back related but I do have to assue all storts of weird postured trying to sleep around James
I need to go get a coffee and ease my headache.

My Dad and his baby and wife are coming over to Oz in two weeks!! I'll be able to post pics of James and his Uncle together for the first time..

OK I'm being cursed for saying I left the insomniac's club. Alex has been up the last 3 nights coughing away due to teething and I haven't slept a lot either. He seems to be able to cough and not always wake himself.

And this morning, thanks for asking Nats, he has THE SNOTTIEST NOSE EVER!!! I should have taken a picture. I got him out of bed and it was everywhere, all around his nose  And I've already used about 5/6 tissues in 30 mins. No swimming for us today.

And he is now not eating breakfast either. He only wants to feed himself the banana - eeekk!! So I'm off to do the toast now so he's happy and eating. What other breakfast finger foods do you give?

Nats where's your dad coming from? And how old is his baby?

Gee we have some clever bubs in here. Those that are walking already, those that are now starting to sleep through finally. The time has just flown by so quickly and most of us are thinking/planning 1st birthday parties.
Jess big congrats on getting through to the next stage. Ive said it before but you are trully going to love your new career move.
Lee it is so good to see you back in here and filling us in on whats been happening with you all. hehehe had to laugh at the hair pulling of his big sister. Noah tries to attack his big brother too.....lol
Anna isnt Jett just a clever little monkey. How is the pregnancy treating you now?
Mez I love the video of Jack. It was amazing watching him toddling around my place last week.
Nat as usual love the pics you take of James. I have to say he is looking mighty fine and has grown heaps. He looks like such a big boy now.
Dani way to go on Damien sleeping through with no more night feeds. Bet your feeling like a new woman.
Gail bummer on the sleep issues. Hopefully he will go back to sleeping through again when he doesnt have a bucketful of snot up his nose the poor little mite.

Hello to Mia, Cass, BJ, Kylie-Anne, Linley, Kristy and anyone else that I have missed.

Pregnancy is going ok I guess. Im in alot of pain from my stomach growing (OMG I never knew how bad it could get  ) and just the usual preg ailments. I will be glad to see it over and done with. Im trying to enjoy it as its the last time I will do it but its hard when Im so unhappy and sore. Bubs is kicking up a storm though, makes me smile when I feel him/her :D

Life is not going ok though. I think Im getting depressed and I hate myself for letting it happen. Has nothing to do with bub, just more life right at this moment with being in this hellhole with no friends and all the immature **** Ive been dealing with from DHs workmates and their spouses. I literally hibernate at home everyday, I dont get out much and its killing me because I am soooo used to having a roaring social life.
Im enduring a huge dilemma of whether to leave DH behind here and move back to Sydney. We'll end up there anyway so DH will follow on in May next year but it means he'll have to be away from all of us for months on end (he wont be able to come see us regularly). We hardly see him now anyway. He doesnt want me to do it but its coming down to my sanity or him seeing us. Its killing me trying to make the decision :(

I just dont know what to do.

Sorry to dump this on everyone.

:hugs: Anna. I guess it comes down to where you will have the support. If it means moving and being closer to people who can be there for you or staying where you are going loopy?????? Its a hard decision to have to make. Would you feel comfortable being away from your DH and him not being there with the 2 kids???
Sorry Im not much help.
Can you not stick it out till he transfers to Sydney?

I would feel less uncomfortable having to essentially be a single mother for awhile than staying here and being miserable and depressed.
At this stage we wont be leaving here earlier than May 2008 and DH has made noises that it might actually be more like August/Sept 2008. I absolutely refuse to stay here that long. Im not so much worried about now as I am about after I have this baby. Its tough having a 2nd/3rd baby with a big age gap let alone with a 15mth age gap and I dont want to be down here struggling and not have anyone to lean on or get support from - even if its an hour for me to sleep or shower, a coffee and chat with a friend, a walk down to the shops. Thats what kept me sane when Jett was born, I had a social life and I didnt feel like I was trapped or monotonous. If I had a down day I could ring a friend to come round and we'd have coffee and chat. I miss that alot.
Im thinking of putting in to move in January after bub is born. That way Im where I need to be to stay sane and DH isnt away from us for as long as he would be if I left now.

Anna :hugs: I know where you are coming from. It is extremely hard not having someone close (female) to bounce off and relate to and it's even worse if your DH isn't giving you the support you need to get through this tough time. Is there any mothers groups or playgroups you can go to? Best of luck in making the right decision for you and the kids.

Hey Nats it's pretty um yucky those lovely big wide open mouth kisses. Specially when it's your eye or nose. Very cute tho. He loves to play Indians on my bare arm and occasionally bite, naughty little boy!!

Mel it's funny now cause he does get her back. He takes her toys off her, pulls hair, bites. I try to teach them how to share but at the same time she has done a lot of this to him. What do you do?? Sibling rivalry already

Anna I'm thinking of you Hun. Just do what makes you happy :hugs: . You will need support and time out too. I had no PND with DD but when DS came along I suffered with PND I'm not saying you will get it..........but I do think all the moving around and things that had happened to me in the past (family issues) contributed to my PND. Keep strong and follow your instincts Hun.:hugs:

I hope you all have a great day

Hi all

Just a quickie, will BBL for personals. My little terror has decided he only wants to feed himself, so he didn't get a lot of food for breakfast. Would only have a handful of weetbix spoonfuls, so I gave him toast and apple but he's more interested in watching Jessica play so didn't eat much.

Also, he was making noise and he's meant to be napping so went to see him and the cheeky monkey had undone his 2 shoulder straps on his sleeping bag and got out of it  . He looked very happy with himself:D. Oh well, it was only a 6-12 month size so would have gone soon anyway. Looks like it's time to get the next size out with less easy ways of him to escape.

Gail they are such cheeky little things arent they. They try to become independant too quick hey!!!

Lee the sibling rivlary is just a big pain in the bum! Callan is forever annoying Noah and Noah has now learnt to annoy him back by knocking over the blocks when Callan is stacking them or ruining his train tracks when he is building them etc. Callans latest trick is to blow really hard at Noah when he is standing up unassisted, then he plonks down and Callan think it was him who blew him over...lol:laughing:

Jess poor little Rylan and getting a cold. A huge congrats again on starting your new career.

Nat I hear you on the more awake then asleep time. Wow its coming around quick with your dad and brother coming out.

Had my OB appointment today. Everything is going ok. Lost another kg (dont know how I am so not eating as healthy as I could be, Im a guts) so Im under strict instructions to gain a kg by next appointment. Drs got buckleys, my body will do what it wants.
Had an u/s. Looks like a girl. OB wouldnt make a call either way but we couldnt see anything between the legs for ages and then he moved the view up a bit and saw the cord, or in his words "a possible penis". We knew with J straight away, cant miss balls and a penis if theyre there so I am deadset that this baby is indeed a girl. You shouldnt have to search for a penis. Having it confirmed in 4-5wks :)

Driving me mad not knowing for sure though.

Sorry to hear you had a bad night Mez. Jett has actually been good, only waking max 2 times a night (only for a bottle, never cries or wants to stay up) *knock on wood* Last night it was only 1 time, I thought he was dead or kidnapped when I woke at 3am to pee and realised I hadnt heard a peep out of him  Hope J gets some sort of sleep pattern happening soon!

Jess well done on getting the job.

Anna - I hope you manage to put on some weight and you manage to sort things out soon. I kinda know how you feel. I moved here 3 years ago and, although we have joint friends (whom DH knew from growing up), I'm just making my own friends now.

Alex sat up by himself for about 2 mins today :smiliedance: . And he's so happy with his new toybox which my Mum and Dad gave him for his bday (I had to construct it to make sure all the pieces were there, etc. Good thing I did as one side was badly scratched so had to be replaced) and he happily gets all the toys out, then Jessica happily puts them all back

OK there was a discussion on here some time ago about donuts. Now there's a Dreamy Donuts opening in my mall, is this one I should try? I don't bother with Donut King as if I'm wasting calories I like to have something that's a bit more filling like a choc fudge brownie, not a donut that doesn't fill me at all. So is this the one to go to ladies :detective: I'm afraid I was spoiled as a child, we lived in Brussels and htey had a donut shop which had stacks of comics so Mum used to take us as a treat and they were GREAT donuts so I have high standards :D

However, I feel I must give them a thorough testing.

Urgh! :hugs: Mez.... little piggy eh? Is he atleast happy awake at 11pm? Or just whinging to go to sleep and can't?
Jess I've heard that too about them feeling they are still part of us.
Sometimes I think about how he was once inside me and how I had this post-partum emptiness after he was removed, like a kind of a void i wanted to fill up again (thank gawd for lactational infertility, I wish the dumbest things on myself sometimes) anyway, I digress.... I only just got to thinking about what it must've been like for James to be inside and now out. For any baby for that matter. I know they don't always look all that aware of the difference but I'm sure they are. I just assumed he'd forgotten but it has only been so long since he was in utero, I just thought that his sudden ability to breathed with his lungs meant he's forget all about his old 'bed womb" once he got into his cot! I guess not LOL

I feel much better now... I don't know if it's that i have -- recovered, tax time is over, winter's coming to an end or the planets are in a more favourable alignment (or AF's are nigh *fingerscrossed* ) but I just feel as though I have woken up/recovered. I don't want to jinx myself but I actually feel capable now IYKWIM. I sat down and started to do a budget  - Where to get whole sale items, how much is the best price to pay for every single thing I buy (well I made a form to fill out for when I shop. Once a pattern emerges it will help to make shopping more predictable. Hopefully if I invest the time now I have the inclination, when it comes time the shpping will practically do itself! PLz plz plz!! *stick to your guns, stick to your guns*)

For ..well, since James was born i've felt like I'm just a rag flapping about on the wind. Just don't know if I'm coming or going, in a fog racing perilously forward but blindly IYKWIM So anyway BIG EXHALE from me! I'm back :D

I think it helps now that James is in our bed. I get a crick in my neck some nights but it's 99% good. And David is on board with it now too Gawd luv 'im! I think we both agree that we could go our whole lives (later) regretting that we missed out on having that closeness but we will never regret the time that we didn't sleep 8 hours strait a night. There will be time for that later - James may be in his own bed when he is three, who knows... So three years - more for each sibling = we will sleep when we retire! YIKES!!! lol. And there are always those drop side cots you push up next to your bed so you can co-sleep your baby and your toddler. (Helps with the tandem feeding hehehe LOL )

Gail hope you enjoyed your movie and norty sweet treat LOL

Mel Callan is such a sweet heart! I could just imagine him now. Noah must be so big by now.

Hi to Anna, Cass and lee. And Mia and Lin (where ever you are)

Hope you're all having a great week end. Bye for now.............

Urgh! :hugs: Mez.... little piggy eh? Is he atleast happy awake at 11pm? Or just whinging to go to sleep and can't? ..

usually he is happy, but last night he fought it big time..then lots of screaming and tanties...did not want to go to sleep for me, then wouldn't settle when DH sang to him (which he normally does)...then just fell asleep on me again...it's like tandem tag team...

Just got him to bed a moment ago...his cry's have stopped so I gather he is asleep...late night only due to having dinner at my brothers house...

Went to Glendale today and got some great bargains!!! it was their "1 day sale" which was pretty lucky for me and unplanned shopping trip..(it's close to my brothers house, so thought I would make an afternoon of it)...

oh well, off to bed myself now... sleep well all...I know I am praying for it...

Morning everyone

Nat good to hear you are now at ease with the whole mummy/parenting role. You've certaining got the right idea going on. Sometimes it's best to just relax about the when's/ why's/ should's/ could's etc and just do whatever works for the interim, as it can really do your head in trying the 'ideal way' over and over again without success :hair:

Mez I was wanting to go to the Stockland Glendale 1 day sale but didn't make it as Nathan had a big day in the back yard yesterday and I was stuck indoors looking after sick little Rylan. Tell us what bargans you snagged??? :D I love my bargan shopping!

What's that you say, Nats? You're feeling capable? That won't last, no sir (haha!)

I have just been away for a week. Love the Jack video! So close now Cass, I think I felt jealous, wtf?!

Ripley is doing well though has had yet another cold - his fourth I think - and still going. He has been sleeping 10-11 hours every night for nearly 3 months now. Has dropped back to two day sleeps. Anything up to FIVE pooey nappies each day (!). Eating everything and anything. Cruising and pushing furniture around but not walking unassisted. Has just started pointing this week.

Okay that's me!

Hi all
Had a pretty busy couple of days and spent today at home relaxing...NOT!!!! Had washing to catch up on, sheets to change, floors to vaccum etc.

Jess I just want to wish you all the very best for your first day back into the big wide world:hugs: As for the expressing have you tried expressing from the side Rylan isnt having a feed from at the time??? I found I could get quite a bit out if I did it that way..HTH.

Mia Hope you had a nice time away Mia. I hear you on the colds! It seems to keep on doing the rounds in my place with the 3 kids sharing it around all the time. Your very lucky with Ripley sleeping so well. Im lucky to get Noah to have 1 day sleep and night times I wont go into as its too depressing...lol.

Nat So glad that you have finally relaxed and going with the flow of things now. It makes things so much more enjoyable. As you said before they wont be little forever so enjoy it all while you can.

Cass Gee Logan is a HUGE eater isnt he??? He is a big boy though so its probably all needed to fill those long legs of his. Noah has 1 weetbix for breaky, a sandwhich and/or yoghurt for lunch, a big bowl of vegies for his dineer then sits back in his highchair and helps us all with our dinner later on. For snacks he has rice wheels, sultanas, fruit, loves the dairy bites cheesy pops. I think you do become kind of blase' after your first and just take it all as it comes. With the pooing thing Noah seems to do about 5 a day now too. Its just from all the solid food they eat as there tummies are only very little and cant hold it all.

Mez Go you and your bargains you lucky thing. I would of gone to the one at Bateau Bay but I was at fotty ALL day. Oohhhh had to let you know that Krispy Kreme opened at Westfield yesterday too...YUMMMMY. Andrew took Em to see the Harry Potter movie on Friday. He said it was a very dark/scary movie...big wussy boy he is...lol

Dani I have to say Damien is looking mighty fine in your Av. He is getting such a big boy look to him now.

Gail Hehehehe Im another one that hides treats in the kitchen where the kids cant find them (or DH:p ) and then sneak them when noone is around. The guilt I feel is just terrible..you know the kind that makes you go back and sneak some more...lol. I have to say those doughnuts sound mighty fine. Might have to try them next time were up your way.

Ok I think that will do as its turned into a mammoth post with all my :ecomcity:

How come you're being induced? Being induced greatly increases the risk of c/s or other instrumental intervention. It interupts the natural physiology of birth and the natural process of hormones that go with it.
Cass a birth plan is the list of preferences you write down to give to the attending midwife or Ob. For example -

I wish to tear naturally rather than be cut should the need arise
I wish for my labour to be allowed to progress naturally and not have ARM or artificial oxitocin administered
I wish to forego continuous feotal monitoring and be allowed to move around freely
Should the need for a c/s arise I wish to be given a spinal or epidural rather than a general anaesthetic. I want to present for the birth
Should the need for a c/s arise I wish for my husband to be present during the procedureSee what I mean? And hopefully all your wishes are respected and you get the birth experience of your dreams. It's your body, your baby.

I haven't managed much EBM today - about 150mls in total. I guess he will just have to have some soy milk and water until I return with my bursting bossies lol

Jess I just want to wish you all the very best for your first day back into the big wide world:hugs: As for the expressing have you tried expressing from the side Rylan isnt having a feed from at the time??? I found I could get quite a bit out if I did it that way..HTH.

Thanks Mel ;-) you're a sweetie! I'm a little anxious about leaving Rylan but he'll be fine - I'm the one with the separation anxiety lol :o I did try feeding/ expressing at the same time but  go - Rylan was more interested in playing with the pump!

Nat thanks for the well wishes and congrats to you and the family :yelclap: soon to be aunty hey?

Cass Rylan isn't a big eater at all really. He has been skipping his breakfast lately either that or he has gone off his wheatbix? He will sometimes have a banana, porridge, fruit custard or rice bubbles with soy milk. Snacks are plain biscuits, fruit, cheese slices, little ham sticks etc, lunch is either a sandwhich with fruit or cheese, pureed fruit in a tub, custard, veggies or baked beans with toast fingers and dinner is either what we have or home made veggies or the odd jar of baby food. He seems to prefer finger food more so.

mmm, donuts... My girlfriend's b'friend is having a fundraiser and selling....KK's...so i am of course helping out and getting my dozen tomorrow...mmmmm

I saw that Westfield was getting one when i was there last week and was cheerin'...:smiliedance:

Jack was nearly alseep at 8.30pm but has had a second wind and I can hear him laughing hysterically outside the office chasing his father up and down the hall...I'll never get him to sleep now... boys will be boys..

Brekky - Jack eats what ever we are having, be it weetbix, Granola with Museli, Toast or yoghurt...and will eat as much as he can, he stops eating when he's done and there is no way he is having any more after that...likes to spit it out or throw it on the ground. ...and have his breastmilk...

Lunch - Again either what I am having or some baby food...but it has to have lumps/chunks in it or he will spit it out..+ Breastfeed

Dinner - prefers what ever we are having, Meat and veggies...and he eats heaps...+ Breastfeed

Snacks - Bickies, yoghurt, Custard, Fruit, Juice, Water, Breastmilk

Dirty Nappies - mmm, lucky to have 2 - 3 on a bad day, but usually only every second day and general maybe 1 or 2 dirties..

Then he also has a big breastfeed before bed, and 2 +++ top ups during the night...(+++ who knows how many some nights.)

Not much else here...although I am due back at work in 3 wks...not looking forward to that...

Good luck Jess with your new job tomorrow, hope everything goes really well....:hugs:

That is great news Nat! Congrats on the cousin-to-be for James Although it is just something else to make you clucky all over again

How does Damien go on cows milk? Logan has it in his cereal, and is fine with yoghurts and cheese... but as for actually drinking it, it just upsets him and makes him Maybe it brings back his reflux or something. The nurse told me it is fine for him not to drink milk though if he has the equivalent in yoghurt. How did you get Damien to make the transition, or did he take to it easily?

Yeah Congrats Nat!! But yeah, it will get you clucky again. I've just seen my 3 month old niece this weekend and I'm starting to think how big Alex is. Oh well, I'm having the Mirena fitted on Thursday so that will give me breathing space to think

Cass - well Alex has started being quite independent with food so I'm not sure how much he's eating. He's happy for me to feed him yoghurt (thankfully) and pureed fruit but mashed lumpy veges he wants to do himself. So a breakdown, roughly

Brekkie - Bottle followed by weetbix/banana porridge/banana followed by vegemite toast
Lunch - mixed veges, slices of apple/cheese and a yoghurt, vegemite sandwiches
Dinner - we don't always get to but usually fruit
Snacks are rice cakes, arrowroot biscuits, breadsticks, cheese, apple, tried kiwi yesterday

He has 7oz bottles after his naps so 6:30am, 10am, 2pm. He has cows milk with cereal but haven't tried it for his bottles yet..
Oh and he's sitting up by himself without falling over at the end now!!!

Rylan was in bed by 6:30 tonight!!! Woot Woot

I haven't managed much EBM today - about 150mls in total. I guess he will just have to have some soy milk and water until I return with my bursting bossies lol

Congrats Wondermum!!! Hope it carries on.

I know what you mean about the seperation anxiety - Alex was happy as Larry when I picked him up after his first day at daycare, I was the one rushing to get there. This will sound silly  but sometimes I miss him overnight as he goes to bed at 5:30.

Good luck with EBM. I used to do it after a feed. Funny story - my sister got tickets to Wimbledon so I offered to babysit when Jamey was 8 weeks old and she went off having EBM all this milk for him, but forgot about pumping when she was out all day (10 hours) and came back and her breasts were about to explode!

Oh and :smiliedance: I've just booked the Police tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love being able to go and see bands who I never thought I would see live, like when I saw Duran Duran in 99 and Blondie in 98, etc. My sister will be jealous :D

Nats - just wanted to say on the induction=csection risk, my OBGYN actually told me its all a load of crock. It depends on alot of factors as to why mother's end up with caesars and alot of them will have had to have one anyway, natural or induced labour, and that it also depends on how csection happy your OBGYN is. He knew I didnt want one so even though a csection was on the cards for a number of reasons, we did everything we could to lower the odds. I feel that part of the reason for my awesome labour was great management by my Dr and the midwives. That is the key to getting the labour you want.
Im being induced again because I have fast labours and we live a while from town plus the whole BP/pre eclampsia issue. I dont care for the idea of DH delivering bub lol Im not worried about a csection as my odds of having one are slim to none. Even my OBGYN is betting with me and the nurse on how long I'll be in labour for. Ive pegged in 2hr 15min, he reckons 1.5hrs and the nurse reckons I'll come in naturally at 5cm and no actual labour pains and have a 45min delivery  Wouldnt that be fantastic lol

Yeah, well Alex slept all night. A bit of coughing about 3am but didn't have to get up. Jess has woken up worse than yesterday. Temp has gone from 36.5 up to 38 and she spent about the first hour up crying :crying: At this age, she is articulate but if they don't know how to describe something they're stuck. I ask if it hurts anywhere and she says no - I think it might just be that feeling of tiredness and weariness you get when you're ill affecting her. She's smiling a bit more now and I'm just waiting for the dr surgery to open to make an appt. I know it's probably just a cold or flu but I'd rather get it checked out.

Hiya

Yeah, the dr confirmed that it's jsut a cold, but better safe than sorry. I've got the vaporiser out now. It doesn't always come into my head to use it as I only discovered them over here. We used to use the old bowl of hot water with something stinky in it and putting a towel over your head and breathing it in :D That's right up there with washing my hair in vinegar for nits :D

Oh and Alex is having another sleeping day. I had to wake him after 2 hours so we could go to the dr and we were only out an hour and he's gone back to bed. So has Jess with the vaporiser. So I'm going to put my feet up and watch

Press Gang :o which I jus bought as everyone was talking about it and I found it for a good price. If I don't like it I'll just sell it on
