Hi Guys

I was just thinking about why my AF could be late and I think I may have found a possible answer, as I posted in the Feb ttc thread;

I know weight can affect menstration, and this last month I lost alot of weight (breastfeeding and sick so not eating as well as I should), I weigh 47 kg right now

I'm 174 cm tall, my ideal weight calculated by my doctor is apparently 55-60kg so I am 10 kg underweight.

After Thomas's birth I weighed 58kg and maintained it for a while, and was getting fairly regular cycles, but the recent sickness made me drop heaps of weight and my cycles have gone.

Was wondering what you girls think, not only about my situation, but weight and ttc in general, over weight? Under?

Amy

If u are still breastfeeding I would be more worried that bub is getting enough nutrients!

I'm on pregnancy/breastfeeding multivitamins, DR said that DS will get all the vitamins and minerals he needs from me taking them, just mainly need to keep up my protein and carbs, not to mention general fluids!

Doesn't bub always get the good stuff before us when bf anyway? So if anyone is going to suffer its us not bubs? Anyone else know?

Yeah bub always gets the good stuff before us, but just wondering if you are as underweight as LMTB says well I think you will find that it would hinder the amount of nutrients bub does get!

LOL yeah, if you were extreemly underweight I suppose it could cause problems, but my lil fella is putting on weight like a champ! He's very active, at the right stages developmentaly (ahead in some areas) and looks quite healthy and chubby, as a bub should :D My Dr said there's no need to worry at this stage but I should be careful not to loose any more weight.

Just a thought but have you thought about getting protein powder, it will bulk you up quicker than just relying on your food intake for protein!

Thought about it, priced it, it's $120-$200 for a month's supply of the stuff pharmacists reccomend :eek:

Still not a bad investment if it helps you conceive?;)
