I am just curious, how often does everyone bath their bubbas? I am only bathing Skye twice a week at the moment coz a) she doesn't like it too much and b) its cold here (the heating isn't the best). I was told by my health nurse thats its not neccessary to bath them every day but I think twice a week isn't enough either. Thoughts?

I was just thinking the same thing :)

My 6mth old - every 2nd day (sometimes I may miss a day though and it becomes 3 days)

And my 2yr old- every day

I don't see the necessity in bathing a baby every day, though it may help calm some babies before bed I guess.....

We don't often bathe Scarlett. But we bring her into the shower with either of us every night mostly. It's part of her going to sleep routine.. shower, massage, bed. Really helps soothe and calm her and it's also great bonding! She adores it. So I'd say about 5 times a week.

I like to bath daily only because they spew and wee and poo etc I wouldn't want to be left without a bath if I had to wear nappies etc.

i have always been a big fan on when they are newborns every second day in the colder months i bath my 16mth dd after she has her lunch everyday it really depends on if they are sicky bubs and if toddlers what they get into also varies if u should bath every day. as for your little one not liking the bath the more you do it and make it fun the sooner they will enjoy the time in the bath.

I put Hayley in the bath the other night coz she did a poo and got it everywhere (she was actually playing in it :barf: ) I stood her in the bath and used the shower thingy, I put it on her belly and she giggled. So cute (not the poo part though)

usually every second day.. But if she does a big poo or spews on herself I will do it aswell. We have put her in the shower from day one she loves the water going over her face.

hey... i bath aalliyah every second or third day... unless she does a massive poo or something.. i give her a sponge bath most days and baby massage... only because i feel too guilty wasting water everyday when bubba isnt even dirty:o

I bath Spencer every 2-3 days (unles he does a big spew/poo everwhere). I read in the herald sun last week that babies only need to be bathed 2-3 times per week. A study had been done & they found that babies who were bathed daily were more likely to get skin problems like rashes, ezema & other irritations. When I was in hospital the midwife said that they only need to be bathed every 2-3 days anyway, so I have been doing this all along.

Every second day unless he has a poosplosion or a huge puke (which isn't often now since being on thickener).

Nick has a bath every second day (or sometimes third) it depends on what times he is awake & what is on. He actually had his first bath with DD the other day - i was changing a big poo explosion as she was having her bath, so i put him in too. Not easy on the back - i'm glad he is usually in the baby bath or shower.

i shower caleb every 2nd day or third, or whenever hes made a only washable mess.

I sometimes even just give him a bagbath ( wash with warm wipes) as thats often as good as a wash. and its a trick i picked up working with the oldies.

Im a beliver too much bathing can wash away good natural oils in bubs skin etc.

Yep, I was always told not to bathe them too often as the water dries their skin out.

DS1 has a shower with one of us daily and I also bath DS2 every day. They both get moisturized after.
