Car DVD Players

Does any one have them?

DH and i will be driving from Townsville to NSW or VIC in August when we get posted..

I am thinking about getting a car dvd player for the car, the 2 seat mounted ones. Are they any good?

Yes, we have 1 and i would not be without it now. We live 2 hours from the city and make regular trips. I used to have to stop and strap DD back into her seat because she would be climbing out and DS would scream. But now they sit and watch their 'TV' in the car and are so happy. Sometimes they don't want to get out when we get their.

The only thing that bothers us a bit is that they are too little for headphones so the volume is up and it is right behind your head so it takes a little while for you to adjust and block out the noise. It doesn't bother me anymore but DH doesn't like it.

We are from Townsville and travel to country NSW once or twice a year!!! Not a very fun trip but last trip we got DS a DVD player and it was the best investment ever!! We are about to head down again in 4 weeks and I wouldnt go without it!! Although this trip we are trying to do it all through the night and hald the next day to make it easier on the kids as DH will be coming off nightshift anyway so will be used to being up at night and sleeping during the day. We found that we only had to have it on a couple of times though just to stretch out the times between stops (we stop every two hours). This will be the first trip with our 5 month old daughter so that has added to our decision to drive during the night as she is not too fussy on the carseat anyway so fingers crossed she sleeps most of the way.

We only had the single DVD player. I just wish we had one that i could change the DVDs from in the front of the car instead of pulling the machine off the back seat to load them up.

I ended up getting them one, i got the dual headset one. so hopefully it will make the trip a bit more peaceful.
