Below is info regarding a Brisbane Young Parents and Parents to be Picnic in the Park:

WHEN: Thursday 23rd Feb, 11am-2pm (or thereabouts...come as go as you please).

WHERE: Roma Street Parklands...there's playground equiptment nearby. I'm not exactly sure how to describe exactly where it is, so I'll be putting up balloons. If I can manage to get a better description about the exact place in the parklands, I'll let you know.

WHO: Mothers and Mothers-to-be under 24 and their children/babies. Fathers, friends and grandparents are also welcome if it'd make you more comfortable.

WHAT: A picnic in the park.

BRING: Weather-appropriate clothing, a small plate of food (preferably something that can be eaten by small children as well as adults - if your child is not on solids, or only eats pureed foods, just BYO...but a plate WOULD be appreciated as well if you can afford to). Own drinks. A picnic rug or blanket.

ACTIVITIES: Playground equiptment, and any other activities I can manage to organise or afford for young children (like painting or lolly bags etc). If you would like to help organise a little activity for the littlies, that'd be great! Just bring your stuff along!

RSVP: Would be nice, just so I can see the numbers...but you can just show up if you're unsure.

NAME TAGS: I'm going to bring several sheets to put name-tags on. Yes, they're dorky, but I think it's much safer that way...(so some random idiot is hanging around trying to get our kids!). Make sure you come and get one for yourself and anyone you've brought with you as soon as you arrive please!

THANKS! I hope to see you there!

Is there any chance you can change the day to a Friday or a Wednesday?

So sorrry Oscars Mummy...!

The reason for the date chosen is simply because there'd be no way to please everyone...and, from the first few people I had spoken to about it, Thursdays were a good day for them. The time and date were selected to give everyone enough time to figure out whether they'll go or not...and make any necessary arrangements.

If this goes to plan...I'll most definately organise another...and probably on a different day so that the mothers who couldn't make it this time around due to other commitments, will be able to come the next time.

Again, I'm sorry if it doesn't fit in with your schedule. It'd be great if I could please everyone...but unfortunately, I can't...:(

DD and I will be there! Will see if I can get my friend to come along and bring her DS(but not sure as he is only 2 weeks old today and it might be a bit to far to venture!)

Will post closer to the date to confirm numbers!

Hi everyone,

My little boy is nearly 7 weeks, and I would love to get out and meet you all. I'm 23 years old and live southside. I won't go this time as I'm not one for parks/UV rays/heat etc, and Rahmi is too young to play there.
But next time if you guys (or anyone with babies too young to play) want to get together indoors, I am there with bells on.

Leila
