As it states? Maybe it'll help if I also ask how old your 12 month old was as well.

(Cobey's 9kg at nearly 12 months... thinking if it's worth my money to buy a product that lasts until 18kg) :)

My DSS was 19kgs at 3 years old.

In saying that though, Noah is 10kgs at 7 months. lol

DD was 4 before she got to 18kgs.

DS has just turned 3 and he is 16kgs.

At 12 mths, they were about 11-12kgs, from memory.

I claim Luka as THE bargain basement child... 9 kilos at 24 months and his 4 month old brother (who is exceptionally long) is now fitting into Luka's clothes... which means Luka could wear the hand me downs of his younger brother.

Luckily for him, I may have given him a funny middle name, but I won't make him wear his little brother's stuff.

Gotta draw the line somewhere .

DS is 13 kg at 2 years old and apparently according to CHN he is above average for height & weight....his size is more that of a 2 and a 1/4 year old....

They supposedly double their birth weight by 1 and triple it by 2.

Your little boy sounds like my peter.

He was around that weight when he hit 2, he's put on quite a bit now but he's also very tall for his age. He's 3 in december but looks like he's 3 already lol.

Emily was 18 kilos at 5, she is now 5.5 and 21kgs! No wonder my back cracks when I lift her!:p

But she put on a massive 7 kilos in under a year! She had 3 big growth spurts in the last 12 months!:D

Boof is 16kgs at 24mths & was 13kgs at 12mths.

He is very tall for his age though so most people assume he is 4yrs of age.

Lunar got a shock that he fitted into Emily's seat the other day pretty much sitting as she would. So they are roughly the same in height ! Which is where our problem lies.

Whilst he may be able to use things because by weight its all good, height screws it up !

DS is 4yrs old and weighs 18kg (had him weighed about 3 weeks ago).

At 12mths he weighed 10kg...he was only 11.8kg at his 18mth checkup :)

DS is VERY tall and muscly (looks lean so it has to be muscles otherwise I have no idea where it is) and he is 19kgs at 3yo. oh and he looks like a 4yo and is as tall as a friends 6yo.

DD on the other hand is 11.8 at 18mo is also tall but is skinny as so I don't think she'll be hitting 18kgs anytime soon.

the average for 18kgs is 4yo but obviously this means there are plenty of kids over and under that weight range to get the average.

It's tricky, isn't it? Ronan just turned 3 and is 14 kilos. I don't expect him to hit 18kilos until well into his 4th year.

I want one! Although DH took one look at it and said "no way" (welcome back mr. rollyeyes!!). I think that this style appears much safer then the traditional seats on the back of the bike...
I say go for it!

At 10 months G was 14kg (and climbing). At 12 months he was 13.5kg (got sick)....

G has always been exceptionally large for his age. At the rate he was still going before he hit 1, i would have said that he'd hit 18 by the time he was 2.... Now.... I dont know

I think you should get it - even if it lasts only a year, that's one year of being forced into exercising to make the purchase worthwhile :D

Also, it seems like the sort of thing that would have great resale value.

Zach will be 5 in november and is just on 14kg .. I doubt he will hit 18kg before hes 8!

Alex on the hand was 3 and 18kg and Isobella has only just turned 2 and is already 14kg so she will probably be about 3.5 when she hits hit!

Seek - Can you try it out before you buy ? Or can you at least return it if it isnt suitable ?

My only concern with that piccie is that i wouldnt be able to use that with Boof cause he is way too tall & my short a$$ self could get to the handles around him lol.

Great product though !

neither of my kids have hit 18 kgs yet!
my 3.5yr old is 14.5kgs and my 10 month old is 8kgs both of them where smack bang on the median line in there little child health book!

my friends boy who is younger than my ds1 (3.5yrold) is 22kgs though he is a big boofer! adorable but way to heavy to lift up these days

My DD was very heavy almost 16kg before 2 then she started growing tall and running off her weight. Now 15 and 26 months, but looking more of a adult body shape rather than baby. So yeh 18kg is along way away yet. As most kids only gain 1-2 kg per year after they hit 2 years old

DS1 was over 12kgs at his 12 month weigh in. I thought he'd never slow down, lol!
He is now aged 4.5years and he has been hovering around 17.4 - 17.8 for the last 12 months.

DS3 is already almost 11kgs at 9 months!! I sure hope he slows down, lol!

25-07-2007, 21:04
Brion is 18kgs (well a little over) at 24 months, and at 9 months he was 12.1kgs. He did slow down a lot after he turned one, and then again when he started walking.

At 12mths she was 11.9kgs.
