Hi, I'm on the Northside of Brisbane and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations regarding celebrants for a naming ceremony.
Cheers

used a very nice lady for my sons naming day her named andrea watson shes in the yellow pages where all the celebrants are. I really recommend her she was very lovely.
Thanks for that, I'll give her a call!
Hey JBelly
Actually we are having our son's naming ceremony tomorrow and are getting a friend to do it as there is no legal requirement or legal standing and thought it would be really personal if a friend officiated rather than paying a celebrant to do it... just a thought...
If you're interested in what he's come up with for a ceremony I can email it to you. Just PM me.
Cross your fingers for good weather for us!
Thanks for your help Mum2lucas - we met up with Andrea today and she is lovely - we are going to go with her.
Hi Jonesso, hope all went well! We did ask a friend if she'd like to do it, but she didn't feel up to it - I know I'm not that fond of public speaking either:o .
I've pretty much written what we want, but the celebrant has given us some nice readings and ideas to add to what we already had.

Naming ceremonies dont have to be religious at all its just a way to celebrate your new baby but you can do them anytime. Usually the celebrant does an introduction and then some poems or something are read and then they introduce the baby. was going to have a celebrant for DS for his but i decided not to and just got all my family and friends to come over and we just had food and drinks and I introduced lucas to everyone and that sort of thing. I couldnt really afford the celebrant so i decided for that instead. But I did get everyone to write a message on a card for him so i could read them out on his 21st birthday. I still havent written my message to him yet. Not quite sure what to write.
