I'm a new convert to MCNs. I have two pea pods, and they are great.
I'd originally bought them to replace putting disposables on DS when we go out and overnight, but I think they are so easy that I want to replace all my terry flats as well.

However, we live in the land-of-perpetual-summer (Townsville) and I'm wondering how they will go in humid summer. Will we have sweating issues or do they breathe well?

Does anyone living under similar climatic conditions have any suggestions? Should I get more pea-pods with PUL outsides, or should I get something else?

Its a hard one, I started ds in cloth last summer ans found that fleece pockets were much cooler than PUL.

That said the lighter trimmer nappies were generally better, and peapods weren't too bad.

You should find that MCNs breath really well. I live in bris and DD gets terrible heat rash if she wears a disposable in summer (as well as the rash she gets from the disposable nappy).
I used peapods last summer without a problem.
I also have a few other nappies that I put DD in to go out, itti bittis are my faves coz they fit under all her jeans :)

For overnight I don't really like the peapods, they leak for us...but DD wees alot lol. We use baby beehinds bamboo nappies at night and they are great  no leaks at all yet and DD goes to bed at 7pm and he nappy gets changed between 7-8am depending on what time we all wake up.

I'd suggest trying a few different types of nappies and find some that work for you & your bub :)

Hmm.. i thinking PUL wouldn't be the best to use if it's humid all the time. Sweat could potentially cause rashes. Maybe try some fitteds, without using a cover and change it when the outer starts to feel moist.

A wool cover (soakers) during naps and bedtime to stop leakages. Wool is very breathable.

I just started MCNs this last summer and I found that we didn't need to use covers at all, DD was either in just a nappy (BBB) or a nappy and a singlet most of the time. I just changed her whenever she felt wet.

I'd look at fitteds with wool covers or no covers at all during the day. With no cover it does mean you can feel the wetness but if you're home it doesn't really matter so much. Materials such as hemp and bamboo would probably be best. Both really breathable and absorbent.
Baby Beehinds are one of the most popular choices. Tots Bots, Motherease, Kissaluvs and Bumgenius are also good brands.

Wool is wonderfully breathable, cool in summer and warm in winter. If you can knit (or someone you know) they can be made reasonably cheaply or there are plenty of sites online that sell them (soakers, shorties, longies). Look at Sustainable Hemp Products, OzeBaby, Possum Pouches, Nurture Nappies and plenty of others :)

OOOORRR you could go no nappy at all ;) We don't have any carpet and spent most of our time outdoors, so dd2 spent the majority of her summer/autumn time nappy free. Terry flats came in handy with wipe ups inside!
