View Full Version : What does everyone think of Gretal this year?
Is it just me or is she being a total b*tch lately? Like on Sunday and Monday night she was being really patronising towards Jamie. Putting him down and kinda arguing everything he said.
Maybe its just me but she never used to be so nasty to contestants. It seems like she does it to the ones who wont bite back. For example she didnt say a nasty word to Andrew but she kept patronising Thomas.
Anyone else noticed this?

Yes she has been doing that.
You can really tell who she likes and dislikes.....her choice in clothes has not gotten any better either.

I went to eviction show about 3 years ago and she was not nice in between breaks (tv breaks) she would demand someone to fix her hair makeup etc! wouldn't talk to us the audience at all.. we had Mike Goldman in break time to keep us occupied! yay for Mike! :yelclap:

i've always thought she was a total cow.....from the first series i watched (2004).....i don't understand why she is the host of the show! the host of the show in UK , Davina, was so gorgeous and so lovely; Gretel has nothing on her.
I didn't realise she was nasty to Jamie on Sunday night but on Monday, she was riping into him. I think she may have still had her back up over the "fancy editing" comment he made on Sunday.
As for her clothes, I don't mind some of the stuff she wears :o

Pinkbug I was at an eviction last year and your totally right, she pays no attention to the audience whatsoever. Mike is definately more suited!

Yeah she was fairly rude on Sunday too. Even before the editing comment but that just made her worse.
Funny tho, I reckon there is a lot of editing to make things looks much worse and more entertaining.
I know Jamie was excited but seriously who isnt. For eg.
Jamie said- OMG look at this crowd, its amazing!!
Gretel said- Cmon, like you didnt expect this(in a sarcastic voice).
And so many other things like when she asked what his family said and he said they were proud and she responded with So they all thought you were great, no one thought you could have been different, surely they didnt all think you were great. I mean WTF??? Thats just nasty:devil6:
She was incredibly rude to Jamie! I actually turned the TV off in disgust. She's rude.
I really wish she would stop trying to dye her hair lighter, makes her look terrible. Dark hair is her colour.

I know Bep, at times I couldnt watch I felt so sorry for Jamie. I think he felt very uncomfortable too.
And yep her hair is shocking, we need to refer her to Tam LOL!!! And her make up, well...who ever does her eye makeup is doing a shocking job. Its way to shimmery and does absolutely nothing for her but accentuate the creases:thumbsdown:

Tam told me how much regrowth you had LOL! She's gunna kill me though, she dyed it blonde, I hated it and changed it back to brunette a week later (Mel and Chels helped me pick a colour) SO much better!

I just imagine he was really nervous and a bit overwhelmed at the whole situation. Perhaps he used the drinking thing a bit too much but he is not the only one to use silly answers.

Oh I agree 150%, when he was going "wow I'm just an ordinary guy...all this for me?" It was so fake and put on.
On the Monday show when he said that someone had asked if he and Gretel were having an affair she said "No they didn't, noone asked you that". and he still kept it up so she asked who it was...he had nothing.
I do think she may be a bit over it, but I think like most of us, she would like some older, more mature 30 somethings in the house, rather than the same fluff. I think she is bored with the same old.
I would like that chick that does dancing with the stars..... is it Sonia Kruger to do BB?

Yes on Monday night she was a total cow to Jamie, noticed that straight away. I usually like Gretel but now I have mixed feelings :shame:

Jamie annoyed me so much. He kept looking at the audience like he wanted to see how much they all loved him, it was like he was just trying too hard to be "cool".... Jamie freaks me out. I don't like him either lol.:laughing:

Maybe she finds it hard to detach herself from her opinions for long enough to interview these people? I have my own opinions on all the housemates, and if I had to interview them, I think I'd find it hard to pretend to be non-judgemental and not let my true feelings show. For example, if I was to interview Travis, I'd probably be all nice and friendly, but would be a complete b!tch to Michelle, because I can't stand her. Does that make sense?
If that's the case, she shouldn't be an interviewer.... They're meant to be non-committal.
(I do think she was a bit of a cow to Jamie, but my last post was meant to be more along the lines of "I don't blame her..." ;) )

Considering he was in the house with investment bankers (Billy I think) mulitple lawers and alike...he is a karaoke host..genius me thinks NOT.:detective:

Hey bit of info for you guys.....Did you know Jamie was an extra in The Secret Life of Us....
I have always thought her tongue is pretty sharp and she does tend to be more rude to some of the male housemates. I think it is unprofessional to put her personal opinions into the way she hosts. This is not really new as she has done it in other series of the BB.
I do think they need someone new who is a bit more fun and nicer. I find Gretal can be very school marmish at times and she on occasions tries to mother the contestants which drives me mad.

Gretels speech annoys me - she always sounds like she has a spit problem, and seems a bit caustic and rude - even to people she talks to in the crowd, being funnt doesnt mean you have to put people down in public! Also i could style her better - and thats saying something! The woman needs to dress for her figure - and her age - not on current or trend fashion cause most of it doesnt suit her.
I dont know how she has lasted so long.

I know!!! Why on earth is her make up artist allowing her to walk out with shimmery eyeshadow!!! Makes the wrinkles even worse... thats one of the biggest no no's in make up land!!!!
