Hiya,

Don't be sorry at all  There probably are lots of threads about this actually, but who cares, you;ve come on and asked so hopefully others will help you out. Personally, i think the ideas you've said are fine

It's funny because it's really easy to overcater at a first birthday party i find  The most important thing is to have a good cake that's all, i think that's all most people expect. I suppose it depends on how many kids are coming?

If you get really lost, i would try the Heinz website, this always gives me healthy but really yummy snacks that might help balance high-on-sugar children hehe. Hope the party is a success

for DD 1st birthday we had cakes, slices, chips, biscuits and sandwiches.

my famous chicken sandwiches were a hit :chef:
a bbq chicken cut up
a few spring onions sliced
a few celery sticks finely chopped
salt and pepper
mayo mix it all together and slap it on bread, they are so yummy, we made 3 loafs and they went in a matter of minutes..

chocolate crackles are always a hit with kids and adults too.
