Hi Everyone,

I am just wanting to here from people that may have conceived while technically having a "break" from treatments, whether that be IVF, IUI or alike.

After 18 months of trying, and having just completed 3 IUI attempts with the dredid clomid, with no success, I can't handle it anymore. I know that other people do it for many more years, and perhaps they are a lot stronger than me, but I just can't cope with the emotional ups and downs.

This weekend, I had the lowest point ever. Because of that my dh and I have decided to not do anything for a least 3 months. This was a really hard decision to make. But I guess it will be nice to have sex anyway that we like, eat what I like, drink what I like, without feeling guilty.

I know that three of our friends actually conceived when they had given up trying. Maybe this will be our luck too.

Has this ever happened to anyone else. I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Baby dust to all of you.

 bigtum, sorry to hear you're having a rough trot. I totally understand where you're coming from though, and it is such an emotional journey we're all on.

DH and I were TTC for over a year and I basically thought we were never going to have kids. I concentrated on myself, lost about 12kgs, we got married and then 3 months later I fell pregnant (we weren't TTC as such, just having lots of sex LOL, and enjoying each other). So it happened when we weren't expecting it to. 9 months later I had a beautiful, healthy baby girl :yelclap: .

This time around we had been TTC for nearly 2 years, before I found out I had PCOS. I started taking Metformin and we BD'd heaps in January with the hope of TTC but then we went to Qld for a holiday and I just completely forgot about everything. With PCOS I never know when a period's coming anyway and we just thought the metformin wasn't working. I was about 2 weeks 'late' from when I thought I should have been due when I started to feel a bit queasy, so I did a HPT and it was positive. Unfortunately I miscarried at the end of March, so we're back to the drawing board. No luck so far, I'm charting this month but then I think if that doesn't work I'll have a month or 2 off because that seems to be when the magic happens, for me and so many others I know.

Best of luck to you, I know how frustrating it is. Just enjoy your DH, relax and hopefully it will happen for you.

My first baby was very carefully planned, but the 2nd I had the implanon removed and we were 'supposed' to be careful till the end of last year. Well it happened the 1st month of 'being careful' (it's difficult to go back to condoms!). Unfortunately I ended up having a m/c but it was definately when we weren't 'trying'.

Good luck, I hope things go your way soon. Look after yourself.
