View Full Version : Using Bonjela for first time
We tried to give DS Bonjela last night. He seemed to lick/suck it off my finger before I could even get to his gums. Does that matter? Should I have given him more? I don't want him to OD on it. What is the best way to put it on a 5 mo gums? Any tips?

Hiya Walking Zombies...
I have the exact same question....my son has been showing signs of teething when we feed...to the point where i have to give him bonjela and wait for 5 minutes and then he feeds.
I also am curious to find out how long it takes to have an effect.
I give my son his dummy straight after i give him the bonjela...so that he doesn't lick it all off...and it has time to do it's job.

I also give my 5 mth old DD bonjela for her teething pain. I usually can get my (clean) finger in to massage her top and bottom gums, but when she won't let me, I put it on a gummy dummy (Happy Baby brand, found in most chemists/supermarkets) - it is shaped differently to other dummies, so it can take time for bubs to get used to it. Also I have a cool teething ring and I try to put a little smear of bonjela on that if she won't have the gummy dummy. Good luck Z :)
