View Full Version : stemor no stem--and type of birth
so I am wondering if the toleration of the stem has anything to do with vaginal birth or csection..
hmmm
whats your theory behing that?
i have had 3 cs and my stem is still a "virgin" - i mean untouched LOL
it never bothered me
but thinking about it- ME THAT IS- i thought girls having had vb would be more tolerant to the stem as everthing would be wider "down there"- i might be totally wrong then....
I was thinking that maybe once you have had a vaginial delivery that your muscles in there dont hold the cup up as high, so the cup sits lower..
that could make sense
although i did have lots of trouble after i had dd with my muscles "down there" so everytime i coughed or laughed ....uhmmm something happend
but yes-
i insert the cup low- turn it around in both directions, as they say- and when i want to get it out- itīs up high....so no stem bothering me..
well, it must have some positive side to having to have csīs---- "grinning VERY cheekily"
2 vaginal deliveries and my stem is still in tact (Mooncup). I can barely feel it.
I think it's more to do with the differences in women - we're not all exactly the same down there! So while some of us don't feel the stem, and it sits in without poking out, for others it is too long and uncomfortable.

could also be an answer-
anatomy is such a lovely thing :devil6: sometimes
lol, so that theory is out the window then...
open wide- all our windows....

My cup keeps listing to the right and I had a vaginal birth, with a couple of nasty tears, one internal lateral on the side that the stem was poking me in almost exactly the same spot, so some of it might just be psychosomatic - I had stitches there that poked into me as they dissolved.
Since DD, tampons definitely sit lower (or just slip as they expand - sorry if TMI), so I'm not surprised that the cup sits quite low for me too.
Anyway, since I lopped off about 2/3 of the stem, I can't feel it anymore.
I'm not sure if I am ready to try wearing it running or swimming yet, I think I need to do some more serious kegels before I do. Going back to work will help with that, because I put a post-it note on my steering wheel that just says "squeeze!!", so every time I get in the car, I remember to do them and no one else who sees it knows what it means :D .
I had a bad tear, and the cut irritated the stem irritated the scar tissue.
